Maverick?
We love it, can I have some honest opinions?
In a likelihood would be Mack/Mav/ or Ricky on a daily basis x

IckleBear · 28/08/2019 13:33

Cute

missyB1 · 28/08/2019 13:38

Do you know what a Maverick is? Sometimes they are regarded positively other times not so much!

BelfortGabbz · 28/08/2019 14:07

Hard name to carry off if he's a shy introvert - food for thought.

Gulsink · 28/08/2019 14:19

No. Don't do it.
I remember reading a thread on here years ago about someone wanting to call their child 'Mungo'. Even that managed to get some nods of approval.

user1493494961 · 28/08/2019 14:21

Maverick is awful, tell DP to change his name to Ricky.

BelfortGabbz · 28/08/2019 14:22

What about Merrick?

daffodilrosedaisy · 28/08/2019 14:30

I've seen quite a few threads on here recently listing this name... asides from the fact I'm not keen on it, I think it might be quite a popular name... depends if you want a name no one else has. 😊

frsttimemama · 28/08/2019 14:31

@Nemchen, If you love it, bollocks what anyone else thinks.

I posted our potential girls name, Marley, on here and 17 people liked it, 18 people hated it... with a passion Grin. After all that, I realised that we love the name and we would still use it anyway.

Apparently, the baby will get compared to a dog or, a famous singer. In reality, your baby will soon be known by their name and no comparisons will even enter anyone's mind because, everyone will be so used to it and I imagine, they wouldn't suit anything else.

P.S. I like it Smile and love Mack as a nickname!

Grufallosfriends · 28/08/2019 15:02

Maverick is a great name. Solid, strong, easy to spell and pronounce!

Mack is a good nickname

ilovemykids5 · 28/08/2019 15:07

@frsttimemama

Your so right.
My hubby is not letting me have so many names because of who he compares them to. But once the child is that name that's who it is.

frsttimemama · 28/08/2019 16:43

@ilovemykids5 Yep, completely agree! Smile

Nemchen · 28/08/2019 16:50

This is a much better response than I was expecting Grin we’ve only told 2 people the name so far as we are aware it’s a bit unusual and like marmite I think. One loves and one hates so it’s good to get some more views without ruining the name for us!

MrsBertBibby · 28/08/2019 21:09

Oh God it's awful. Don't do it to the poor child. It's a name for a complete arsehole.

Mavericks are just that, narcissistic egomaniacs whom everyone else has to hoover up behind.

Name me some Mavericks. Boris Johnson. Nigel Farage. Katie Hopkins. Do you think it's fun being the child or partner of any of those arseholes?
