Can you tell me how you feel about the name Owen? Any stereotypes?

I like it a lot. Can't think of any negatives.

I’ve got one. We planned on naming him that and Welsh ggm assumed it was after Owain ab Gruffydd, lord of Glyndyfrdwy (c. 1359 – c. 1415), or simply Owain Glyndŵr or Glyn Dŵr (pronounced [ˈoʊain ɡlɨ̞nˈduːr], anglicized to Owen Glendower), was a Welsh rebel. A friend assumed it was after Michael Owen (nope - just rugby fans in this house). Mil announced that she hated that name, to which dh replied ‘definitely going to call him that now’.

Should add she calls him lovely Owen now

I’m welsh and find it a bit dated as a lot of my peers were called Owen. I prefer the Owain spelling/pronunciation but that’s just personal preference.

I know several Owens. One is a massive Welshman (Owain) who plays rugby and the others are, I'm afraid, a bit wet. Sorry.

I like Owen and Ewan. I vaguely know someone whose name is pronounced y-eye-yun but I don't know how you're spelling that.

It's a lovely, warm sounding name.

I like Owen. But i prefer Evan which i feel is in a similar vein. Also Ethan is lovely. There's also Ewan which is nice.

I like it. It was in our top 5 for DS1 but we went with something else in the end.

I like it, I think it's a name that suits all ages, great name.
