Clara and Callie?

LuciferTheCat · 24/08/2019 19:36

Got an Oliver, Clara and Jacob already, and i’m due a girl in October. Me and DH both love Callie but I don’t think it goes with Clara.

I think it goes with the other names nicely but i think Callie and Clara is too much of a mouthful? My youngest atm is Jacob so it’s not as if i would say Clara and Callie together iyswim, it would be Oliver, Clara, Jacob and Callie to be in age order.

Would it be okay or would people judge?

I think it’s fine.
Especially when they’re older and they’ve all moved out, how often will you be saying the two names together like that anyway?

user1493494961 · 24/08/2019 19:40

I don't think it really goes with your other names.

CatteStreet · 24/08/2019 19:42

^Agree with user. It's a very different style. And it's a bit of a non-name, tbh - sounds like a shortening, but it's unclear what for,.

CatteStreet · 24/08/2019 19:43

You asked about judging - I'd think she got a raw deal compared to her siblings, tbh.

AverageMummy · 24/08/2019 19:45

I don’t think others will judge but it’ll be hard enough for her to have a new sister without losing a bit of special identity with the initial and sounds. Plus the other 3 have lovely classic names whereas Callie isn’t really a name.

RedCowboyBoots · 24/08/2019 19:46

I'd be worried about the mail, with both being Miss C Surname. It could get very annoying for the girls.

Ponoka7 · 24/08/2019 19:48

Every Callie I've ever known has been a liud mouth.

It isn't as nice, or classic as your other names.

What about something similar, Carrie, or the full name, Callista and you go with the NN Callie?

The names don't have to go together. You're an Adult longer than you are a child and that's when what your name is, really matters.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/08/2019 21:13

I agree about the post and about it being s different style to your other names and is there a law about kids names matching, and There’s nothing stopping you from spelling it Kallie.

Kindlethefourth · 24/08/2019 21:16

It's absolutely fine.

1vandal2 · 24/08/2019 21:20

To the Shayne Silvers fans out there ex - Callie - bur. Excellent name. Also Clara the doctor's companion. Popular fiction names are awesome. Oliver Queen. Jacob Black.

LuciferTheCat · 24/08/2019 21:41

Thanks for the replies. I’m seeing it from different perspectives now. Callie is out of the picture and it’s back to the drawing board then. Thanks again for the repliesSmile

Have you got other choices in mind?

LuciferTheCat · 24/08/2019 21:45

Do you think Madeleine would be a better choice? We also both love that name.

I love that name!

Clayplease · 24/08/2019 21:51

Madeleine really goes well with the others and I think feels like a strong name in its own right. Lovely names.

Pennyeleanor · 24/08/2019 22:07

Yes definitely Madeleine!! Beautiful!

NoSauce · 24/08/2019 22:12

Madeleine is perfect.

FurrySlipperBoots · 24/08/2019 22:14

I think too similar. How about Hallie? Or Madeleine works well with the others.

diddlediddle · 24/08/2019 22:16

Madeleine is perfect

Proseccoinamug · 24/08/2019 23:08

Madeleine is lovely.

With Callie I’d worry that people will hear Kelly.

AverageMummy · 24/08/2019 23:36

Madeleine is beautiful & a lovely contrast to Clara

user1493494961 · 25/08/2019 07:51

Another vote for Madeleine!!

SaltedCaramelEverything · 25/08/2019 09:21

I love the name Callie, just think it’s too similar to Clara sound and what PP said about post is a good point. Also with what you said about birth order, if you were doing something with the girls you’d be saying Clara and Callie a lot.

Madeleine is beautiful though, good choice
