From your boys list i really like Finn, and i like Thomas. From the girls list, i love Erin and Eden, and I like May x

pilates · 24/08/2019 18:03

Thomas is my favourite for your boys
Eden, Rose and Roisin are my favourite for the girls

StarlightCeleste · 24/08/2019 18:03

Thomas
Arthur
Finn

Saoirse
Bronwen
Rose

John, David & Richard are boring. Sean is dated. Favorite is Thomas or Arthur.

Erin & Ada are rising in popularity and safe. May is dull. Eden & Roisin I just don't like. Favorite is Bronwen. How about Anwen?

ParkheadParadise · 24/08/2019 18:05

Sean
Owain

Girls

CatteStreet · 24/08/2019 18:06

Thomas - like a lot
John - this is good, unusual in this generation
David - ditto
Richard - not hugely keen
Sean - OK
Arthur - OK
Owain - OK
Finn - popular atm

Erin - like
Eden - no
Ada - like a lot
Saoirse - like
Bronwen - not keen
May - sweet but a bit over-popular atm
Rose - ditto
Roisin - like a lot

My favourites are David and Roisin, quite closely followed by John and Ada.

gracepoolesrum · 24/08/2019 18:10

John
Arthur
Owain - especially like this name

Eden
Bronwen
May

Particularly Bronwen (lovely and underused) and May (underused on its own, love it's simplicity).

Nonatron · 24/08/2019 18:14

Thanks guys. A lot of the more traditional names on the list (Thomas, John, David, May) are family names which is why they are on there. I want to get the balance right between a traditional, family name and something more modern. We don’t know what we are having and are hoping to pick first and middle names from these lists, so if you have any suggestions for pairings, I’d be grateful! It’s good to have other pairs of eyes on these things 😂

I think Ada Roisin flows very well. Erin May is nice too.

David Thomas or David Owain work. Don't go for John Thomas Grin

formerbabe · 24/08/2019 18:25

John (strong and classic, definitely due a revival)

Not keen on any of the girls names to be honest but Ada is the nicest imo.

user1493494961 · 24/08/2019 18:25

Thomas or Erin.

TommyShelby · 24/08/2019 18:26

@CatteStreet definitely not 😂😂 although I did have a boss who was John Thomas.. and he was a completely dick lol

userabcname · 24/08/2019 18:34

Thomas - boring! Every second man and boy I know is called Thomas/Tom. I don't understand the popularity.
John - quite nice, a strong name.
David - ok, not mad about it.
Richard - not a fan.
Sean - ok.
Arthur- probably the best on the list.
Owain - like.
Finn - not a fan, very popular.

Erin - very popular, not a huge fan.
Eden - like.
Ada - like.
Saoirse- like.
Bronwen - dislike.
May - dislike.
Rose - love! My favourite!
Roisin - ok.

MrsGilly1 · 24/08/2019 18:42

Bronwen - dislike
May - nice

Whattodo20192 · 24/08/2019 18:55

Finn for a boy
Saoirse for a girl

AverageMummy · 24/08/2019 18:58

I’m surprised by May & Rose being described as over popular - May has been given to less than 0.01% of babies for the past 20+ years & Rose less than 0.1%.....

Newearringsplease · 24/08/2019 18:59

I've got a Bronwen

Nonatron · 24/08/2019 19:09

My Aunty is a Bronwen. It’s a great name

aquarius1994 · 24/08/2019 19:13

Richard or David

Rose for a girl

PrincessLouis · 24/08/2019 19:27

Love John and Rose for similar reasons - undisputed classics neither used much (Rose often used as a middle name but rarely as a first). Johnny / Rosie good for little ones.

Thomas / May also good. Richard and David are also classics but seem much more dated to me. Arthur, Finn, Erin, Eden, Ada are a bit faddy. Sean, Owain, Saoirse, Bronwyn, Roisin are fine assuming you are Irish / Welsh! If you are perhaps John / Rose + Irish / Welsh name? Rose Bronwyn is good. Good luck Flowers

poppykittylily · 24/08/2019 19:34

Adore John! Use John!
Thomas is ok too.

Out of the girls, I like Rose and May. Very common middle names but lovely for a first name

bluechameleon · 24/08/2019 19:46

I like Thomas, Arthur and David for boys and Erin, Rose and Bronwen for girls.

Nonatron · 24/08/2019 19:50

We are both Welsh/Irish hence the Welsh and Irish names 😂
