Help with boys names!
We have a 2year old DS already who has a modern-ish slightly American sounding surname name (although doesn't end in - er) This was a family name though and I don't like similar category names.

I like (but husband has vetoed) Kit, Leo, Cole, Dominic.
I have vetoed Alfred, Albert and Isaac.

Still on the table are Arthur, Rowan and frontrunner is currently Rupert.

Our surname is a very common Irish one (we're not Irish though)

Hi

Jumping on this post to see if any names come up I may like for my LO!

All the names I love, other half hates and vice-versa so I have a feeling of dread that our little boy will be nameless for ages!!!

I love names like:
Edward
Arthur
James
Cody
Will
Fred
Jack

My other half likes:
Luke
Tom (don't mind Tom tbh...)
Robert

Every other name I suggest (even ones I'm not too keen on but would consider if he liked it) he just instantly says "no"!

Why is naming a baby sooo difficult !

Superted2 · 24/08/2019 10:01

I like Rupert!

platform9andthreequarters · 24/08/2019 11:06

@Marty93 boys names are hard!

I really like Edward but gave it to my eldest as a middle so think it's too weird to use for the second.

We're trying to avoid the top 20 or so names as I know a lot of James and Henry's etc. I like reasonably classic (non youneeeq) names that are easy to spell and underused, hence Rupert. My husbands only worry is that its a bit too posh (we're not) and he might be bullied!

Marty93 - I think your and dh names are a similar style, I think you’ll find something, keep looking.

Cannot stand the name Rupert.

I love Tom. I have an 18 year old one. It was very popular in his age group but much less so now I believe.

I also love Daniel (Dan).

Jake.
Joseph.
Liam.
