Manon is beautiful ❤️

TatianaLarina · 14/08/2019 19:58

Manon

TatianaLarina · 14/08/2019 20:02

Like Honor too but I think Manon works better with Anouk.

CeceSL · 14/08/2019 21:05

Manon is my favourite for a long time, but we are worried it doesn’t work so well in English.

Also Ines, but we have a family member with this name (Inès) so I don’t know if it will be confusing to use it.

Honor is one of my top, but my husband (English) is not sure because of the English word.

The others we both like and feel they will work best in the two languages (Flora, Vita, Lucille, Cecile) because they are not so “French” or “English” sounding. I think I like Vita best because of the beautiful meaning.

Manon

georgialondon · 14/08/2019 21:08

Ines and Cecile are lovely names.

MarshaBradyo · 14/08/2019 21:09

Love Cecile

YahBasic · 14/08/2019 21:15

First name that came to mind was Elise

TatianaLarina · 14/08/2019 21:17

In the U.K. Vita is short for Victoria (as in Vita Sackville West).

TatianaLarina · 14/08/2019 21:19

There are an awful lot of Ceciles in France, particularly my age.

mavisgreen · 14/08/2019 21:26

Camille?

I love all your names. Cecile is my favourite but I love Ines, vita and honor as well. I don't know that Ines goes that well with anouk though. Sounds like a rhyme " A nuk and an A"

CeceSL · 14/08/2019 21:48

I think we are taking Ines and Cecile off the list... Sad

So Manon, Lucille, Flora, Vita, Honor are left.

Flora (or Florence) gets my vote

Poetryinaction · 14/08/2019 23:31

Manon.
Anouk and Manon both sound sensible and wholesome and beautiful.
The others all sound trendy and faddy to me.

Grandmi · 14/08/2019 23:42

I love the name Esme..my daughter is 25 and thanks me regularly for giving her such a pretty and unusual name !

Astronica · 14/08/2019 23:43

Flora and Manon are my favourites for Anouk's sister. Lovely names! I find Honor and Ines too close in sounds to Anouk. Though there's nothing wrong with them I'm just not keen on Lucille and Vita.

MrsBertBibby · 15/08/2019 00:00

Oh I loved Ines.

I like all your remaining list except Lucille. Sounds horrid in an Estuarine accent. Luceeoo.

NoSauce · 15/08/2019 01:16

Manon or Vita.

Theonewiththeblonde · 15/08/2019 10:08

Vita

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 15/08/2019 14:17

Ines

Antonin · 16/08/2019 21:46

Manon first, Vita second. Both go well with Anouk.
BTW what was the reception like when you named Anouk? I love the name but wondered if some people unfamiliar with it might find it difficult

CeceSL · 16/08/2019 22:45

Anouk was named when we lived in France. It’s a well known name there. Here it is mostly pronounced the Dutch way with the UCK sound which I don’t like so much, but it doesn’t annoy her (yet! she is only 6 years) Smile That is why we are looking for a more “international” name this time.

I think we are choosing between Vita and Flora now, and maybe Manon also. Thank you for all the help!

Anouk & Manon!

What beautiful names, both separately and for sisters.

The name Manon is classy.
And associated with good things: Marcel Pagnol's character, of course, and also Kenneth Macmillan's ballet.
