All three lovely and classic.

FeeFee832 · 12/08/2019 23:43

Thank you Smile

Very common classic English names. Can’t imagine anyone really disliking these names, for reasons other than too popular.

IsobelRae23 · 12/08/2019 23:47

Grace is pretty and timeless. Is also the old Sarah and Emma, as there are so many of them.

Same for William and George, they are everywhere, but again are timeless.

But then we say timeless, but in 20 years they will be ‘old fashioned names’ again, and people will not use them as frequently. I think now part of the boom in them is because it’s our future kings names.

Astronica · 12/08/2019 23:53

All good names.

DramaAlpaca · 12/08/2019 23:54

I like classic names & while none of those are my favourites they are all fine.

I prefer William to George.

FeeFee832 · 13/08/2019 00:00

@DramaAlpaca any alternative suggestions? I only really like classic names.

Saw a post on here about Frederick - Freddie or Fred. Sounded sweet?

I like classic names but then worry it's boring or too common (common as in lots of people having the name not rough!)

OP posts:
Wavyheaded · 13/08/2019 00:21

Very boring imo, sorry.

SquintEastwood · 13/08/2019 00:35

All perfectly fine.

Would also add Thomas, Zachary, Benjamin, Jacob, Daniel, Mathew, Peter, Nathaniel and Ethan for a boy.

Elodie, Hannah, Rachael, Catherine, Rebecca, Francesca, Alannah and Louisa for a girl.

TildaTurnip · 13/08/2019 00:39

I’d have felt very self-conscious being called Grace and I imagine subjected to some stick being overweight most of my life and lacking in physical gracefulness.

I much prefer William.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 13/08/2019 02:14

I like Grace!

But if you wanted an alternative-yet-similar, Hope is underused.
Classic, single syllable, 'virtue name'.

Plus makes me think of Hope Sandoval (singer), whose voice is beyond lovely Smile

Prefer William to George.

CoffeeRunner · 13/08/2019 02:45

I absolutely cannot stand the name Grace. I think “virtue” names are always a bad idea. Grace, Hope, Charity etc. etc.

William & George are fine, but extremely common around here.

20viona · 13/08/2019 03:01

I really hate the name grace, don't know why really.

IckleBear · 13/08/2019 08:05

I hate Grace too

Benjispruce · 13/08/2019 08:06

Dislike William. Might be my age as I grew up watching Just William.

bridgetreilly · 13/08/2019 09:15

I am not a fan of Grace. It is very popular but I think it sounds a bit wet. What about Joy?

Jellycat00 · 13/08/2019 09:28

I'm not overly keen on Grace anymore. Partly as it's so common. William and George are nice (i like Billy), but seem a bit boring. I'm not sure why!

Other ideas....

Ava
Elizabeth (Beth/Lizzie/Libby/Eliza)
Eve
Laura
Rose
Sadie
Hanna
Victoria (Vicky/Tori)
Anna
Alice

Owen
Marcus
Michael or Micah (Mikey/Mickey/Mike)
Simon
Thomas
Danny
Peter
Sean
Jonathan
Sebastian
Ethan

Good luck!

lucylouis · 13/08/2019 09:44

I don't know why but I've always disliked the name William- George and grace and lovely

formerbabe · 13/08/2019 09:49

I like William best. George is fine...solid and timeless, albeit a bit dull.

I hate the name Grace...it sounds so drippy to me.

Frith2013 · 13/08/2019 11:21

They’re not very exciting names.

FeeFee832 · 13/08/2019 18:18

@Frith2013 what's an exciting name then?

OP posts:
FeeFee832 · 13/08/2019 18:19

Very unfair to say they are boring or dull and not give alternative names!

Sorry but I hate the name Joy! 🙈

OP posts:
Theonewiththeblonde · 13/08/2019 18:22

I can’t stand Grace either. The spelling and sound just urgh to me.
William and George are ok but the one reason I’d never use them is their popularity. What about looking at some biblical names so you can get a classic name but also one maybe not quite so popular?

FeeFee832 · 13/08/2019 18:37

@Theonewiththeblonde do you have any suggestions?
