Lucy and Cara

Emthebaker · 12/08/2019 12:29

All lovely names - I personally like Cara the most!

Lilyannarose · 12/08/2019 12:31

I like all 3.

Emma and Lucy are both timeless classics that never seem to date.
I always wanted to be called Emma.

Lucy is the name I would have chosen for the baby I lost in 2007, so naturally this has a special place in my heart.
The Lucie spelling is quite popular now too.

Cara is pretty, but I prefer Clara personally.

carmellax · 12/08/2019 12:52

Cara

Astronica · 12/08/2019 12:58

All lovely but my favourite is Lucy. Which is prettiest?- I have no idea how to answer that - I'm not sure what makes a name 'pretty'.

diddlediddle · 12/08/2019 12:58

Aaaand we're back in 1983!

Don't like Cara.

Emma and Lucy both nice. Lucy probably has the edge as Emma is similar to lots of other popular names.

moodyblues · 12/08/2019 13:05

Emma. Can’t explain why but is just my fav.

I was going to have Lucy if I ever had a girl but it’s very popular here (southwest).

IsobelRae23 · 12/08/2019 14:07

Lol I was going to say back in 1980!!

I only know Cara, 300 Emma’s, and 8 Lucy’s. However I prefer Carla.

firawla · 12/08/2019 14:08

Lucy

singymummy · 12/08/2019 14:14

Cara is my favourite out of those

Bubbletrouble43 · 12/08/2019 14:25

Cara

CaptainWentworth · 12/08/2019 14:29

I have a Lucy, born last year, so I’m biased. We had a shortlist of other, perhaps more ‘trendy’ names, but we weren’t sure about any of them and when she arrived she didn’t seem to look like any of them.

We went for it in the end because it’s timeless, would be suitable for pretty much any future profession or position in life, and because everyone I’ve ever met called Lucy seemed to be a nice person.

I think Emma is perhaps slightly more dated, and Cara is lovely too but less timeless.

Pineapplefish · 12/08/2019 14:30

I like all of these, I think Cara is my favourite.

Kanga83 · 12/08/2019 14:32

I love Emma , it's timeless. I prefer Clara to Cara and don't like Lucy at all. It's twee at any age in my opinion.

taylorlynn · 12/08/2019 14:39

Emma and Cara are my favourites. Emma is still quite popular here in the UK so I don't think it's dated at all. I think it's in the top 5 in the US!

starkid · 12/08/2019 14:41

I've always had a soft spot for the name Emma :)

Kokeshi123 · 12/08/2019 14:51

Cara is very nice. Lucy is nice too, but very sweet so might not suit every girl/woman.

I know so many lovely Emmas but it really is a very, very dull name. It was incredibly over-used in the 70s-90s.

CherryBlu · 12/08/2019 15:02

Lucy

Atlasta · 12/08/2019 15:17

Cara but I prefer both Clara and Carla.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 12/08/2019 16:00

Emma all the way!

Poetryinaction · 12/08/2019 16:42

Oh I love these names.
Cara.

Shadow1234 · 12/08/2019 16:42

Cara by far

NoSauce · 12/08/2019 17:03

Emma is dated to me although I know it’s a classic. Don’t like Cara but do Clara.
Lucy is the prettiest imo.

Rosiered1 · 12/08/2019 17:25

Lovely 3 names. If I had to choose one
Lucy would be the first one I like.
Have you considered a middle name too from those names ? Example: Lucy Cara (and then surname).

bridgetreilly · 12/08/2019 17:54

Lucy. I also like Emma. Not a huge fan of Cara.
