It's the name of a book publisher to me. I'm not keen on it for a first name, but it's not awful.

I know of a girl called Faber, so to me it’s feminine.

I’d assume they had a sibling called Faber too.

Actually, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Just another surname type given name and not as hackneyed as Harrison, Taylor, Tyler etc.
