My husband and I cannot for the life of us agree on girls' names. Our tastes are so different! Can anyone look at our two lists and think of any suggestions that might suit both our preferences...?

My list

Dorothy
Juliet
Genevieve
Georgiana
Miriam

Husband's list

Rebecca
Anne / Anna
Emily
Sarah
Kate

TIA!

What about a longer old-fashioned name that you like which can be shortened to a classic name that he likes?

Genevieve -> Jenny
Juliet -> Julie

Oh my goodness it is like I could have written this post!!!!

My other half seems to LOVE names that (in his words and I quote...) "names that were popular when I grew up" like:

Sarah
Louise
Rachael
Luke
Tom (don't mind this one though)

Whereas I like names like:

Sophie
Isobel
Georgia
Jack
Henry
Charlie

I've decided I'm not "settling" for a name just for an easy ride. I am going to be stubborn and hope he gives in eventually and let's me pick a name!

I actually don't find your tastes to be worlds apart! His are plainer/more solid/standard.... but they're all very sophisticated. I think your tastes can merge. Would love to know what you go for.
