Thoughts on Cameron for a boy? We are 100% sure on the girls name we have chosen and I thought I was committed to Cameron for a boy but I am not 100% on it like I am with our girl name. Maybe it’s last minute nerves? Baby due in 6 weeks.

My name is Cameron and I’m a 22 year old woman. I do see it is a girls name but that’s not really surprising. Honestly, if you’re not 100% sure, it’s not the right name. What’s the girl’s name? We can give you suggestions based off that.

I like it. The Camerons I know are all known as Cam so maybe less good if single syllable surname is all.

I really liked it as a name but decided against because
A. I wouldn't want anyone to think there was any chance of him having been named after a Tory pm
B. I believe it means "crooked nose".

I have an almost 18 year old Cameron and it’s a lovely name and he’s a wonderful boy.

Doesn’t really remind me of someone’s second name?...

Thanks everyone. The David Cameron thing did cross my mind and it’s definitely not an association I would like to make (not a fan at all!) but the few people in RL I’ve mentioned the name to said they didn’t think of him.

Reading the replies I think I like it even more now. I’ve been practicing saying it around the house and it works. Plus there are literally no other boys names I like enough!

I have a 12 yo Cameron, he is funny, smart and kind. I think the name Cameron suits a baby, small boy, adolescent and man.
We are Scottish though and it's a popular name.
