really like Emilia and Cleo for girls, and Edward for a boy. what about Alban and Rowan for boys names also? x

southoftheland · 02/08/2019 16:46

@sleep
I’m afraid Alban reminds me of Albus Dumbledore far too much for my liking and don’t really like Rowan but thank you Smile

Love Cleo.

Your boys list is dull but if I had to pick one it would be Teddy.

daisypond · 02/08/2019 17:02

Emily-OK but dull
Margot - nice -prob my favourite
Emilia- ok but bland
Margarita _Like but pizza and the drink.
Edith (Edie)/ like Edith but Edie is so bland
Evie-boring and forgettable
Ava- boring and bland
Cleo/ ok but prefer Clio
Isla- done to death
Lucy/Lucie- Lucy is nice. Lucie is silly.

Boys:
Edward (Teddy) - yep
Jack- not as a name itself. John is better
William (Will). Yep
Harry - Henry is better
Max- OK

neon552 · 02/08/2019 17:09

Emily - boring, prefer Emilia
Margot - really like
Emilia - nice
Margarita - pizza
Edith (Edie) - Edith is dreadful. Edie is ok for a young girl.
Evie - another one?
Ava - way overdone
Cleo - quite like
Isla - lovely name but sooooo popular
Lucy/Lucie - a classic. Go for y spelling

Like all your boys names except from William.

Star801 · 02/08/2019 19:17

Emilia, Ava, Jack and Edward are my favourites

Coconutsandcobbles · 02/08/2019 19:25

I love Lucy and Margot from girls list. All your boys names seem to be ones that are very commonly used...I know 5 Williams under age of 3.

What about Jake, Leon, Toby, Louis or Timothy?

MikeUniformMike · 02/08/2019 19:45

Girls:
Emily - not a favourite but it's a classic
Margot - ok but so trendy right now. Likely to be overused
Emilia - lovely but so many Amelias and Emilas
Margarita - rather nice
Edith (Edie) - not keen
Evie - lovely but so many Eves. Evies, Evas...
Ava - no
Cleo - like
Isla - nice but overused
Lucy/Lucie - Lucy. Classic.

Boys:
Edward (Teddy) - Too many Teddys. Edward/Ed is a yes.
Jack - safe
William (Will) - safe
Harry - safe
Max - like

Ava and teddy stand out to me x

missmouse101 · 02/08/2019 19:56

Cleo and Teddy are nice. Margot is dreadful, a name for a 70 year old. Dislike the ugly 'mealy' sound in Emilia.

GoGoGoGoGo · 02/08/2019 21:01

Ava, Isla, Evie, Jack and Harry have been done to death! You could be calling any of those names in every school right now.

I love Cleo.

Loveislandaddict · 02/08/2019 21:10

Love Margarita and Emily. Other names are fine.

Boys names are very traditional and classic, and popular.

Similar names:
Daniel
Robert
Samuel
Andrew
Jude
Seth
Timothy

Bellaposey · 02/08/2019 21:26

Girls:
Emily - bit dull
Margot- really like but getting common.
Emilia - pretty but constantly having to spell it (Emilia with an E). Also a lot of Amelias/Emilias around
Margarita- really don't like it. It's a pizza.
Edith (Edie) - love it and was our first choice for DD2 but it's become so common. There is one in every class in my daughter's nursery (she's 3)
Evie - again very common. Loads of Evie/Eva/Eve/Ava/Edie names around
Ava - as above
Cleo - always think of as a dogs name tbh
Isla - again common and now getting a bit old
Lucy/Lucie - ok

Boys:
Edward (Teddy) - very nice but again getting very common. I know 4 under 3.
Jack - other boys names are all ok
William (Will)
Harry
Max

Overall if popularity doesn't bother you you've got lots of nice options but a lot of the names on your list are very common.

Sophronia · 02/08/2019 23:10

Margarita and William

monsieurmarius · 02/08/2019 23:15

Emilia and Lucy are lovely. I feel Ava and Isla are also nice but overused, same with Evie actually.

Love all your boys names! Especially Harry

CatteStreet · 02/08/2019 23:27

I really like Emily, Edith and Lucy. The downside of Edith is it doesn't travel well; in a lot of countries she would be 'Edit'. Think Lucy has become very underused and that makes it the best of the bunch (how about Lucia?). Emily's very popular (my dd would possibly have been Emily otherwise). I also like Cleo and Emilia (also very popular). Less keen on the rest. Margot is having a popular moment just now. Definitely not Margarita. How about Greta (tiny bit hipster perhaps)?

Of your boys' names, I only really like William.

Astronica · 02/08/2019 23:45

I love Edith/Edie, Cleo and Lucy/Lucie. I like most of your other girl names except Ava which is way overdone and sounds harsh, Isla - too overdone, and Margarita sounds over the top for me. I love Greta though.

I really like all your boy names - hard to pick a favourite there. Edward/Teddy perhaps.
Fergus
Rupert
Rufus

Chocolatecake12 · 02/08/2019 23:50

Cleo is my favourite from your girls list.
Edward is my favourite from your boys list, other suggestions for a boy
Joseph
Toby
Isaac
Joel
Benjamin

Pixilicious · 02/08/2019 23:53

Margot & Cleo

Max

Rosere · 03/08/2019 00:10

I love your boys names. I like a strong Scottish sounding name.
Fergus (as suggested by @Astronica)
Hamish
Angus

Also love Morag for girls.. Im not Scottish BTW, just love a solid name.

Paddy is my ultimate fave boys name. Had my little guy made it full term, he would have been Paddy.

Icklepup · 03/08/2019 08:52

I like Emilia.

Flynn
Sonny
Magnus
Quinn
Theodore

CakeRattleandRoll · 03/08/2019 15:15

I like Margot, Isla and Ava from your girl's list.

Love Edward (Teddy), because I have one and it really is the perfect name. Also, we are in Australia and it is not common at all here. Yet. Hopefully it won't suddenly get 'discovered'.

Frith2013 · 03/08/2019 16:40

Emily - dull
Margot - such an ugly name. Please don’t use this.
Emilia ok
Margarita - prefer Marguerite
Edith (Edie) - too popular
Evie - even more popular
Ava - no
Cleo - ok
Isla - ok
Lucy/Lucie - dull

Boys:
Edward (Teddy) - dull
Jack - dull
William (Will) - dull
Harry - dull
Max - dull
