I love Penelope/Penny. I just can't picture a baby Heidi although it is a very pretty name.

IsobelRae23 · 01/08/2019 23:21

I don’t like either sorry. I really dislike Penny, and the 3 Penny’s I know dislike it, with two going by their middle names. I prefer Pandora.
As for Heidi, it’s an old name, and I dislike due to experience, The 3 Heidi’s I know are not nice girls/women. So I can’t like it.
However Rose is a nice middle name. Too old for a first name, but pretty for a second name.

Penelope Rose

DramaAlpaca · 01/08/2019 23:26

Penelope is gorgeous. It's classical, elegant & sophisticated.

Heidi, to my mind, is the exact opposite. And it's so twee.

Rose is beautiful.

Shadow1234 · 02/08/2019 00:55

Prefer Heidi Rose

imtheonlyupsieone · 02/08/2019 02:11

Does it have to be rose? Every second girl has rose as a middle name at the moment.

Like both first names. Would choose Penelope as more choice for nn and is a bit more classic/less twee but still very pretty.

I prefer Penny out of the two x

99bb · 02/08/2019 10:47

Both absolutely lovely!

Astronica · 02/08/2019 11:04

I love Penelope /Penny. I find Heidi quite dull.

Argeles · 02/08/2019 11:07

Penelope Rose is beautiful.

Peachbubble · 02/08/2019 12:08

The Penelopes I know all go by Penny. Not a name I particularly like, so I'd choose Heidi Rose.

Frith2013 · 02/08/2019 12:10

Both very dull.

andannabegins · 02/08/2019 16:27

I have a Heidi and I was going to call her Heidi Rose.

daisypond · 02/08/2019 16:36

Penelope is great but I’m not keen on Penny as a short form. I also love Rose but it is wasted and lost as a middle name. I don’t like Heidi at all. It a cutesy “pretend you’re a Swiss milkmaid from a children’s book” sort of name

PoppingOneOutIn2020 · 06/08/2019 07:03

Rose could be a first name option, I just feel like there is a lot of Rose's around.

It was my DP's mums name and this would have been her first grand child, sadly she passed away a few years ago so I would love to incorporate it into the name somewhere.

There are lots more Penelope's around than roses, I think becuase of the Kardashian baby? So don't not choose rose for that reason.

I think all 3 names are pretty, I knew a Heidi in school, it's a very pretty name and never seemed weird on a little girl!

Loveislandaddict · 06/08/2019 07:17

Both lovely names.

If you want to incorporate Rose, why not go for a Rose-name?

Rosanna
Rosemary
Rosamund
Roxanne, nn Rose
