Cecelia and Sebastian

I'm expecting boy and girl twins and I love the names Cecelia and Sebastian but are they too much together? But then I also think they go together really well. I really like long name that can be shortened so they would be Cece and Seb

No they’re great together

FatAndFurious7 · 29/07/2019 22:59

Both lovely names and go well together, especially for twins Smile

Frith2013 · 29/07/2019 23:11

I don’t think you spell Cecilia like that. Unless you wanted something unique.

Coachvikki · 29/07/2019 23:11

I like them. Especially the shortened versions.

Astronica · 29/07/2019 23:28

Really great as a pair of twins. And lovely names individually and with the short forms too.

Beekaye · 30/07/2019 02:25

I think I've seen both Cecelia and Cecilia but Cecilia is the original spelling and seems to be more commonly used so I'd go with that so there's less confusion

They’re great together. I loved the name Cecelia but a friend got there first and uses that spelling too.

I hadn’t known of the cecilia version until I was looking for names and I would pronounce them differently so

IdaBWells · 30/07/2019 04:31

OMG absolutely LOVE this combo!!!!!! 💕

Panticles · 30/07/2019 05:24

2 martyrs?
It sounds quite pious to me.

macdhui · 30/07/2019 05:53

Beautiful

VivienneHolt · 30/07/2019 06:59

I like them - beautiful individually and as a combo.

Greyhound22 · 30/07/2019 07:05

Lovely two of my favourites.

I prefer Cecilia though.

sunshineys · 30/07/2019 07:18

I like Cecilia. I'm not keen on Sebastian especially if shortened to Seb (reminds me of sebaceous or oily).

hadthesnip2 · 30/07/2019 07:22

As long as they are going to a private school & not the local comp.

Esto · 30/07/2019 07:22

Both of these were on my shortlist but DH vetoed. I also wanted the nickname CeCe.

Personally I think CeCe and Seb sounds quite good together but Cecilia and Sebastian is a bit of a mouthful.

My kids names don't really 'flow' all that well but you get used to whatever combination you end up with.

madcatladyforever · 30/07/2019 07:23

You did ask us so I will say they sound like something out of Downton Abbey 100 years ago. I wouldn't saddle a child with such a grandiose name.

userabcname · 30/07/2019 08:23

Love this combination- Sebastian is one of my favourite names

That's what I was thinking when I said is it too much together, I love the names but I don't know if I would actually go for them

Lovely names Smile

There's a CeCe and 2 Sebs in DSs nursery class.

(Along with 2 Montys, a Claudia, a Mabel, an Arlo etc)

CeCe and Seb will fit right in, as all DC I know atm seem to be named like Edwardians.

mysteryfairy · 30/07/2019 11:51

I initially thought that this was a Twelfth Night post and had to remind myself what the female twin was called (actually Viola). It does sound very Shakespearean somehow!

Lavenderblues · 30/07/2019 14:24

Cecelia nickname Cece is lovely.

Not keen on Sebastian, sorry.

Lavenderblues · 30/07/2019 14:45

I think Cecelia works better with a 2 syllable boys name eg

Cecelia & Magnus
Cecelia & Quentin
Cecelia & Henry

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 30/07/2019 15:01

Makes me think of "Cruel Intentions" where 2 of the main characters are Cecile and Sebastian

Sophronia · 31/07/2019 12:51

Lovely, but I’d spell it Cecilia.

Hobbesmanc · 31/07/2019 14:32

Cecile or Celia or even Cecily are all pretty. I love Celeste too

Sebastian as a boys names always seems redolent of a certain arch and decadent posh boy. I don't like the connotations to be honest.
