What do you guys think of the name eva or evie? Which is better? We were thinking we like mae/ mai for a middle name or double barreled name is nice to. Eve is abit common tho I think. Thoughts thanks

I think Evie is very overused, and a bit twee. I personally like Eve.

Honestly? I wouldn’t choose either. Evie and Eva are like Olivia, Ava and Isabella. Too many of them, go for something a bit different!

I have met about two dozen Evies in the last year. All nicknames for Eve, Eva, Evelyn, Evangeline. If you want your child to be known as 'Evie [surname initial] the first 10 years of her life, go for it

Eva & Eve are international, elegant & classy, if a tad popular. But please don't hyphenate with Mae/Mai, it'll ruin a beautiful name.

Eva is my first choice, Eve 2nd, and you can use Evie for a nn if you like. Don't hyphenate - you can use Mae (though I love the May spelling best) for a middle name.

Eva/Evie Mae has been discussed on here so many times. I'd find something less common popular. Or if you must, May, not Mae.

All really overused. 20 years ago all three were elegant and classic but uncommon. Now they are everywhere and have been for over 10 years.

DD has so many friends with some form of Evie/Eve that we have to add
something to differentiate smart evie

From your list I would choose Eva.

Ava is a close alternative (not sure if that's just as popular as I haven't met one irl)

I like them all but Evie is a very common name and hyphenating with Mae is even more common. Just using one of the two would be fair enough but using both will pretty much give her the most stereotypical girl of her age name going. I'd use a different middle name.

There will be an absolute tonne of girls with the same name. But Eve is the nicest of them but not with May as a middle name.

Mae is also one of the most common middle names imaginable so Evie Mae is like common name bingo really.
