What do we think of Zoe for a girl? We don't live in the UK and I'd like to check what people think of this name if we ever come back. Thanks :)

Isn't it spelled Zoë?

TeenTimesTwo · 20/07/2019 21:10

Great name.
Many people don't bother with the accent because people in the UK aren't set up for it so it makes life hard.

welshy2240 · 20/07/2019 21:12

Dislike I’m afraid

OldAndWornOut · 20/07/2019 21:14

It's really lovely.
Ticks all the boxes for me.

ChaChaDeGregorio · 20/07/2019 21:14

Lovely

daisypond · 20/07/2019 21:15

You don’t need the accent in English now, just as we don’t put it on Chloe either. It’s like words such as naive, where it’s OK to leave it off. Zoe with an acute accent isn’t right at all, though.

Fraggling · 20/07/2019 21:16

I really like it as well.

Lavenderblues · 20/07/2019 21:16

I thought it's naïve, Chloë and Zoë?

Chickydoo · 20/07/2019 21:19

I know a Zoe in her 60's. she's the coolest person I know

Jammiebammie · 20/07/2019 21:20

I have a Zoë and she has always had compliments on her name, she was the only one throughout her primary and secondary schools.
She went through a stage during primary where she didn’t use the umlaut, but she prefers having it now, as do I.

mollpop · 20/07/2019 21:23

I love the name Zoë

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 20/07/2019 21:29

I love it but with the diareais (it's not an umlaut!) please!

daisypond · 20/07/2019 21:34

Lavender, you can write all those words exactly as you have written them, but you don’t need to any more. Naive without the accent is now the first spelling in the dictionary, but the other is there too.

Jammiebammie · 20/07/2019 21:43

You’re totally right! I’ve been calling it an umlaut for years Blush

Jammiebammie · 20/07/2019 21:44

Pp for blacklamb

PixieLumos · 20/07/2019 21:47

I like it. I don’t know why it’s become less common, it should definitely make a come back.

LadyGAgain · 20/07/2019 23:09

Love it!

BikeRunSki · 20/07/2019 23:14

Great name!! There were 9 in my sister’s year at school, who are all kid 40s now. I know 3 or 4 who are about 8, it is growing in popularity. It’s quite cool, a bit hippy.

Owlbert · 21/07/2019 23:04

Love it!
