Hi,

We've decided on our first name which is going to be Astrid however DH likes the name Eva for a middle name.

Astrid Eva doesn't go though does it?

We're a bit stuck so middle name
suggestions are welcome

Astrid is lovely! Astrid Eva sounds fine imo

TheFaerieQueene · 17/07/2019 19:44

It’s lovely.
How often do you say all your names together? Hardly ever, so if you think it is clunky, it doesn’t matter.

Icklepup · 17/07/2019 19:52

Astrid Eva sounds good.. love Astrid!

Divgirl2 · 17/07/2019 20:14

It's a great name, and PP are right. You never really say all names together.

GrabbyGertie · 17/07/2019 20:37

Apart from when the baby's name in announced you almost never use middle names. I wouldn't worry if the names go together or not.

Having said the two names do go together anyway 😅

MikeUniformMike · 17/07/2019 20:43

Astrid Eve is nicer IMO and flows. Try it with the surname.

DramaAlpaca · 17/07/2019 20:45

Agree with pp that Astrid Eve flows better, but Astrid Eva is fine.

MikeUniformMike · 17/07/2019 20:47

Eve seems gentler than Eva, and Astrid is quite a strong name.
Not keen at all on Eva but Astrid and Eve are both lovely.

Equatoria · 17/07/2019 20:48

Yes, it flows fine.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 17/07/2019 20:50

Astrid Eve flows better, to me Astrid Eva sounds like Astra Diva. But love all the names individually!

womaninthedark · 17/07/2019 20:51

E-va or A-va?
I like Astrid Eva pronounced Ava.

pinkyredrose · 17/07/2019 20:53

Astrid is lovely. Does she need a middle name?

meepmoop · 17/07/2019 21:05

Oo I was expecting agreement that they wouldn't flow. I've been saying it over and over and it's growing on me.

DH likes it pronounced E-va.

I don't dislike Eve instead

sheshootssheimplores · 17/07/2019 21:09

I like it!

boosterrooster · 17/07/2019 21:13

I'd go with Eve rather than Eva

I think as Astrid is such a strong name that it goes better with a one syllable middle name

joystir59 · 17/07/2019 21:17

Astrid Eva said together could be heard as Astridiva

georgialondon · 17/07/2019 21:17

It flows well!

AnonymousP · 17/07/2019 21:38

It’s beautiful! I marginally prefer Astrid Eve but Eva is lovely too and flows just fine.

LooseAtTheSeams · 17/07/2019 21:47

Astrid is a brilliant name! I like Eve and Eva or you could go completely mad and do Astrid Evelina, which has a nice rhythm.

meepmoop · 17/07/2019 22:14

Thanks everyone! I'm glad I've got positive responses to both especially Astrid else I would really be stuck

I use my daughters first and middle name together every day. I agree with you OP... I don't think they go together at all!

There's are so many more names to choose from! Astrid is lovely though 😊

Bezalelle · 18/07/2019 23:09

All I see is AstridE.

notacooldad · 18/07/2019 23:11

I dont understand the need about names flowing!
The names are perfectly nice, you like them, what's the problem?

Frith2013 · 18/07/2019 23:49

Sounds fine.

SlipperOrchid · 19/07/2019 11:50

I don't understand the need about names flowing!

Me neither unless you intend to use it as a double barrell name which isn't the case here. I would be far more inclined to wonder if it goes with sibling names because having a Molly and a Cressida sound like two different families.

Astrid is lovely.
