Not so much bad as descriptive. Lily Voilet would be better.

I love Violet but Violet Lily doesn't flow at all. Lily Violet is much nicer.

missuone · 15/07/2019 23:01

Thank for the feedback. We're sure on Violet as the first name, how about Violet Stella?

Is say no to both names, sorry.

Ohyesiam · 15/07/2019 23:06

You don’t have to think of first and middle names as a pair, because they are never used that way.
Very occasionally on a form she will have to put Violet Lily Smith , but no one will ever think of her as Violet Lily.
So use the names you love.

MmeBufo · 15/07/2019 23:06

Stella is better but feels a bit 'clunky' in the mouth, IYSWIM

Violet Lucy
Violet Estelle

MrsMozartMkII · 15/07/2019 23:10

I like Violet Lily.

missuone · 15/07/2019 23:12

Another one i like is Violet Ivy?

OP posts:
shiveringtimber · 15/07/2019 23:18

Maybe too many florals?

TitsMcGeeee · 15/07/2019 23:20

Too many florals I think.

AddNameHere · 15/07/2019 23:21

I like ViVi for a girl

Junebug12345 · 15/07/2019 23:23

Too many florals! Both names on their own are lovely. But together they don’t work for me.

Violet Lilla?

Lilla is originally a diminutive of Elizabeth, I believe, but now used as a name in its own right.

Ellieboolou27 · 15/07/2019 23:23

Violet sounds too much like violent to me, Stella a brand of beer, so not a great combination to me. There are so many Lilly's around now too.

weirdquestionhearmeout · 15/07/2019 23:24

Violet + a noun name like Lily or Ivy makes it sound like you’re saying the Lily/Ivy is violet.

missuone · 15/07/2019 23:25

Finding it hard as most names i like are noun namesGrin

OP posts:
Junebug12345 · 15/07/2019 23:30

Agree you need a non-noun-name for the middle name!

bridgetreilly · 15/07/2019 23:54

I like Violet Stella and I quite like Violet Ivy. I don't like Violet Lily at all, though.

Astronica · 16/07/2019 04:39

I wouldn't use a noun as middle after Violet. And Stella doesn't flow well with Violet I think.

I like these:
Violet Mia
Violet Eleanor
Violet Maisie
Violet Phoebe
Violet Quinn
Violet Maeve
Violet Frances
Violet Frankie

Equatoria · 16/07/2019 07:42

I like Violet Stella.

Violet Lucy
Violet Seren
Violet Emma
Violet Isobel
Violet Melissa
Violet Olivia
Violet Alice
Violet Claudia
Violet Emilia
Violet Faith
Violet Imogen

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 16/07/2019 09:12

Agree that Violet plus a noun sounds too descriptive.

How about:

Violet Lillabeth
Violet Lena
Violet Estelle
Violet Catherine
Violet Rosina
Violet May
Violent Evangeline

AnneOfCleavage · 16/07/2019 09:27

I actually know a Violet Lily (name as full first name) and I always hear Violently so that is a consideration.

I don't see an issue if Lily is only used as a middle name to Violet as you hardly ever say the full combo so if you love it go for it but not if it's a double barrelled first name iyswim.

MikeUniformMike · 16/07/2019 09:48

Don't think of it as Violet Middlename but as Violet Middlename Surname and as Violet Surname, and as V X Surname.
Most people are known as Firstname Surname.
I would go with a neutral middlename like Elizabeth, Margaret, Catherine or something but don't really see the point of middle names.

Icklepup · 16/07/2019 12:30

Violet Alice
Violet Nora
Violet Sadie
Violet Ezrie

berghg1710 · 16/07/2019 13:34

It sounds like two flowers, but Violet could refer to the colour. I don't know if there is a violet coloured lily. You could Google it, and if there is, use a photo of one on your birth annoucements.

Fatkins · 16/07/2019 14:57

I like Violet Lucy as suggested.

I don't like Violet Lily or Violet Ivy.

Violet Willow? It still sounds like a description, but it has a much nicer flowing sound imo. Violet Lily and Violet Ivy for some reason make Violet sound like violent. Violet Willow doesn't and I have no idea why.
