Boy names for DS4 plese help

Hello everyone,

We're about to welcome our DS4, but still can't decide on the name.
We narrowed the list down to these two: Richard or Louis as both are our family names. (Richard is from my family, and Louis is from DH's.) We crossed George and Charlie from the list for the first names, but I'm still not sure. The middle name will be Ernest George.
Anyway, the others DS names are Henry, Arthur, and Edward.

Please help us decide.
Any suggestions and thought are most appreciated.
Thank you in advanced.

Louis. Regal but also cool. Charlie is nice too.

I don’t like the name Richard.

sometimesalways · 15/07/2019 08:58

Both Richard and Louis are lovely. Stuart?

SleepingStandingUp · 15/07/2019 08:59

I prefer Louis to Richard

missyB1 · 15/07/2019 09:01

Louis is nice, personally I don’t like Richard. Can I also suggest Francis? I think it would go nicely with your other boys names.

Shadow1234 · 15/07/2019 09:19

Louis

SallyWD · 15/07/2019 09:27

Both nice. I think I prefer Richard simply because I know so many little Louis. Also there are lots of good nicknames that can evolve from Richard.

AnonymousP · 15/07/2019 09:41

Louis is perfect.

Grufallosfriends · 15/07/2019 09:56

I prefer Richard! Louis sounds so soft and weak. Also often gets pronounced Lou is.

bridgetreilly · 15/07/2019 09:57

Richard.

diavlo · 15/07/2019 10:00

I think Louis a better fit with your other names. Richard is a bit old fashioned with an unfortunate nick name.

Paultrybudget · 15/07/2019 10:04

Richie is very cool!

Frith2013 · 15/07/2019 11:37

Louis.

Richard is a systems analyst in his 50s.

Sophronia · 15/07/2019 12:23

Richard

septembersunshine · 16/07/2019 10:03

Louis! Richard is ok. I do like Rich but you might find he gets Ricky/Ric.

Louis sounds great with your other dc names. If you put Richard with the other three and it doesn't quite feel right.

Equatoria · 16/07/2019 10:41

I like Richard. A good historical name, not overused, and goes well with the siblings' names.

Theoldwoman · 16/07/2019 10:52

Mmm I don't think you should go too old fashioned. Try and keep with the times. My grandfather born in 1895 was Ernest George. Never heard of another Ernest.

Richard is lovely!

Icklepup · 16/07/2019 12:27

Louis Ernest George

CholeRabbit · 17/07/2019 06:35

Thank you everyone. It's nice to get the opinions.
It's hard to choose indeed. I wich I could decide already.
Please convince me to choose between these two names!

I prefer Louis to Richard but I love George if that's back on the table as a first name.

boosterrooster · 17/07/2019 21:32

Louis all the way for me!

Great name and goes really well with his siblings names

Marty93 · 19/07/2019 14:53

I would personally go for Louis as its a bit more "modern" even though it is a traditional name. Richard just makes me think of a 40 year old man... but you could shorten it to Rich which ins't as "old" sounding.

teenmum18 · 23/07/2019 21:36

Jarvis

Fatkins · 23/07/2019 22:56

Richard.

I'm not keen on Louis and think it sounds a little whiney...

Fatkins · 23/07/2019 22:57

I'd also pick George over Richard or Louis.
