Not a fan, sorry. To me it looks like a typo of Vince.

crustycrab · 13/07/2019 13:14

I'm really into traditional names but I do actually like Vance.

Sexnotgender · 13/07/2019 13:15

No. Just no.

Weird combo of lance and vince.

badtime · 13/07/2019 13:51

I have only ever encountered this name as a minor character in 'The Dukes of Hazzard'.
That's not a good thing.

AuntieStella · 13/07/2019 13:58

If it's transferred surname from his side of the family, then even though I don't really take to it, I think it's workable.

Balthazar is a wonderful name

EleanorOalike · 13/07/2019 14:00

I quite like it actually and I’m sure he’d be the only one with the name.

Shockers · 13/07/2019 14:03

I imagine him dressed in a pastel 1970s suit.

SleepingStandingUp · 13/07/2019 14:03

@AuntieStella nope, some actor or writer he likes.

Balthazar is AMAZING but we lack the collective guts.

Lindy2 · 13/07/2019 14:03

Is it actually a name or a slightly odd mix of Vince and Lance?
Sorry I don't really like it.

Balthazar could be in the up though. 😂

Owlbert · 13/07/2019 14:47

Does he watch Neighbours? There was a tough guy called Vance on it a few weeks ago!

Fatkins · 13/07/2019 14:49

I don't like it. I don't like Vince or Lance either though, so that makes sense!

IHaveBrilloHair · 13/07/2019 14:51

I thought of the Neighbours guy too

SleepingStandingUp · 13/07/2019 15:47

@Owlbert
@IHaveBrilloHair
He doesn't but I do, perhaps that's why I'm so violently opposed lol

Just wanted to check it wasn't just me lol

No, no no to Vance.

Go with Balthazar, I dare you Grin

Owlbert · 13/07/2019 16:34

I can see why it's put you off Grin not sure how I'd feel about it of I didn't associate it with him!

Lindellia · 13/07/2019 16:39

I can imagine a 40-50 year old asset manager called Vance advising me on my investments.

Can't quite see it on a toddler though!

Lindellia · 13/07/2019 16:40

And just FYI, when you type 'Name Vance' into google, the first thing that pops up is 'Vance meaning = dweller of bog"

AnonymousP · 13/07/2019 16:47

Urgh no sorry OP’s husband!

EdWinchester · 13/07/2019 16:49

No! Vance is a 1970s misfit with sideburns.

bridgetreilly · 13/07/2019 16:50

No, I don't like it. I've only ever heard it in America.

balonzz · 13/07/2019 16:54

horrible name.

DeRigueurMortis · 13/07/2019 16:55

No - it's shudder inducing.....

MiddleClassProblem · 13/07/2019 17:06

Maybe you might prefer Roman.

PS I shall now be throwing lots of Neighbours names at you as suggestions. Also surprised you have not countered with Mark or Brennan. I’m disappointed in you...

IHaveBrilloHair · 13/07/2019 17:53

Toadie perhaps?
(I GET THE ROMAN joke too)
Oops caps.

SleepingStandingUp · 13/07/2019 19:03

@MiddleClassProblem I want Colby and Dean!
