So after all the Jacob posts nothing felt right..... The names just didnt feel right. And today I was reading about Jacob in the bible and it just put me off in all honestly.
We came across a name and it just feels right. The name is JENSON.
Middle name yet to be decided.
What do you all think?
Girls name is set 100% at Sofia Matilda. Sibling is Noah.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I've no idea about negative connotations but please not if your name's Jennifer.

Benjispruce · 07/07/2019 21:42

Prefer Jacob. Jenson is a bit new fangled/American(unless you are in USA)

Prettylittlelady · 07/07/2019 21:45

I much prefer Jacob, Jensen is ok but Jacob is a lovely classic yet still quite trendy name.

MagneticSingularity · 07/07/2019 21:45

Not keen on either but Jacob if pushed.

Or how about Jason? It’s kind of a mix of the two.

DramaAlpaca · 07/07/2019 21:46

Blimey, some snobby comments on here.

I like Jenson & think it goes nicely with Noah. Noah & Jacob together are too biblical for me.

Benjispruce · 07/07/2019 21:48

James? My fave but had 2 girls.

Teachermaths · 07/07/2019 21:49

Working in a school I'd never call a child Jensen. Or Jay, or Jayden.

However Jacob is lovely and fits well with Noah.

DontCallMeShitley · 07/07/2019 21:49

Jensen is awful, sorry, and as others have said, it is as bad as Jayden which really isn't a proper name, just bits of names but that's another thread.
Jacob is much better.

Joeybee · 07/07/2019 21:57

I think Jenson is a great alternative to over-popular Joshua or Jacob. It's a fairly unusual name but it isn't difficult to pronounce or spell and sounds fresh. Go for it, I think it's great.

lilpumpsmum · 07/07/2019 22:10

It's a Scandinavian name??! It's not American or made up or just bits of other names put together Confused

Mabellavender · 07/07/2019 22:13

It’s make me think you were bang into racing Grin

I prefer Jacob but I like classic names. It’s your baby so choose what you like the most.

Mishappening · 07/07/2019 22:15

Not Jenson please - spare the poor wee lad that.

CassianAndor · 07/07/2019 22:37

Wow, the absolutely snobs are out in force. I hope none of them think they’re any classier than the ‘chavs’ they’re deriding.

foodiefil · 07/07/2019 22:39

Not for me but each to their own

WhereForArtThouBray · 07/07/2019 22:47

I prefer Jacob and think it fits much better with your other names.

Another option could be Jasper. I still prefer Jacob though.

BazaarMum · 07/07/2019 22:53

Hmmm. I know a Jenson, his parents are lovely but I always wince a bit at his name, it does sound a bit chavvy compared to them (and his more traditionally named siblings).

If you love it, go for it, but be aware it definitely fits in the Jayden/Kayden/Jordan/Kai/Arron category. The kid always kicking seven kinds of crap out of something/someone in the playground 😬

BazaarMum · 07/07/2019 22:55

Cassian definitely classier 😂

MsTSwift · 07/07/2019 22:59

Unfairly for some people the name Jensen puts you in a very different bracket to the name Jacob.

C0untDucku1a · 07/07/2019 23:04

My dh wanted jenson for a bit. He also wanted kyle. I said not to both.

Enko · 07/07/2019 23:12

Having grown up in Scandinavia Jensen will always be a surname for me and a dull one at that. To me its like calling your child Smith or Jones. (and yes I know they can be first names too but I dont like it) I do not like it for a first name at all. Not massively keen on Jacob either but dont hate it. Girls name is sweet

username1724 · 07/07/2019 23:26

Absolutely love Jenson!

Sophronia · 07/07/2019 23:31

Jacob is much nicer than Jenson. I don’t think it matters what the Jacob in the Bible was like.

Jenson is trendy and only became popular because of Jenson Button. I think it will date badly.

MarthasGinYard · 07/07/2019 23:33

It's tastique

AgnesNutterWitch · 08/07/2019 06:32

I think it depends how you pronounce it.

devilishlygood · 08/07/2019 07:03

Interesting deviation from Noah and Sofia...but your choice. Well done on agreeing, that’s half the battle!! 😊
