Which way round?

So for a girls name I've decided on Sofia Matilda. Couldn't bare to let Matilda go completely and think despite the double A endings it flows lovely (even when calling out loud!).

For a boy I'm loving Jacob and Ruben. Yes Ruben is the Spanish spelling, however the spelling is definite.
What do you think of Jacob and Ruben?
Which sounds nicer..... Jacob Ruben or Ruben Jacob.
I cannot bear to let Jacob go so must incorporate that in some way.
Ta muchly.

Ruben Jacob

Don't think of which way round sounds nicest so much as which name you actually want to use. Middle names are not much used.

Ruben Jacob

@stillmoving agreed!

userabcname · 06/07/2019 20:59

I prefer Jacob so Jacob Ruben for me.

hazandduck · 06/07/2019 21:01

@stillmoving I think that depends on how naughty your child is! I middle name my little devil about a hundred times a day 😂 I joke, of course. You should pick the name you prefer first as that will be most used.

For me, Jacob sounds better as the middle name. Ruben is lovely.

Nonameyet1 · 06/07/2019 21:14

I prefer Ruben so would put that name first.

Ruben Jacob

I agree with stillmoving. My middle name may as well not exist for the amount of times it gets used. Which name do you prefer Jacob or Ruben? That is the way to look at it.

Personally I think Ruben has something special about it. Jacob is nice too but I know a million and one Jacobs and Jakes.

BackforGood · 06/07/2019 21:36

What StillMoving said.
Your middle name is only for being told off by your Mum , embarrassing you at your graduation and wedding. Choose whichever name you like most for their middle name.

If you're asking, then I like Jacob and don't really like Ruben, but really, it is what you like that matters.

grufallosfriends · 06/07/2019 21:40

You never ever use your middle name!

So choose the first name you prefer.

MotherofaCat · 06/07/2019 21:48

Ruben Jacob flows better but I prefer Jacob to Ruben as a first name

Zazia · 06/07/2019 21:58

Just like the previous poster, I also think that Ruben Jacob flows better but prefer Jacob.

AverageMummy · 07/07/2019 03:06

Looks like a spelling mistake to me so I’d go for Jacob

Sofia & Matilda are equally beautiful to me

SnowdropFox · 07/07/2019 07:56

Ruben Jacob sounds better to my ear
