I love it. And I've never met a Lara who wasn't lovely.
DP says she'll get called Laura Confused

It's a nice name and although there may be some confusion with Laura or Tara (depending on accent) it is a proper name in its own right so people aren't likely to react strangely.

TBH I prefer Yara, but that's probably only because Lara Croft was such a big thing when I was younger

It's lovely, (my middle name Grin) soft and pretty. Yes it may get mistaken for Laura but that's not the end of the world. It's not over complicated and can easily be corrected - my best friend's daughter is Ada and she constantly gets mistaken for Ava!

All the -ara names are pretty:

  • Zara
  • Lara
  • Clara
  • Tara
  • Cara

I think Zara is my favourite of all x

Names get misheard the whole time and you just correct them.

I think that Lara is completely different to Laura - if someone gets it wrong just correct them!

Lara is lovely, but Boris Johnson called his daughter that. I know she's not responsible for his behaviour, but it does put me off a bit.

We know a Yara (parents are from Iran) she and her name are lively too

My DD is Lara and she’s never been called Laura (even though her auntie is called Laura). Lovely name.

Lovely, I know a Lara, never been called Laura. I wouldn't go for Clara as I know a few babies with that name, seems to be getting v popular. Zara is nice but a different type of name imo. I also love Lyla.

Lara is lovely. I worked with a Lara and no one got confused.

Yara is nice but it was a character from Game of Thrones so a lot of people might think of that these days.
