Thank you for all your help on earlier thread. I think I'm going to stick with Jacob for a boy as feel I would regret not using.
As for a girl I've narrowed it down, with your help to:
Noah and Sofia
Or
Noah and Amelia (Which Ive added, as I was thinking back to before I even considered having children and my names were always Noah and Amelia. Only worry is people keep saying on here its too popular.)

Which of the two would you pick? And why?
Thanks.

Sofia. Both girls' names are popular but Sofia is more classic.

Noah and Sofia. Only reason is Sofia fits better.

Fatkins · 30/06/2019 20:42

Sofia is strong, elegant and classic.

Amelia is pretty, but quite frou frou and so popular that I think it will date badly. It will be the Tracy, Sharon or Keith of the future, (no offense Sharon, Tracy and Keiths of Mumsnet)!

Matleavemadam · 30/06/2019 20:45

I know you said popularity isn't that big a factor to you, but honestly I hear Amelia everywhere. When you've heard it shouted in the park, in the shop, at softplay it takes on a different sound...I think its the 'Meal' sound that doesn't sound nice to me anymore...but maybe that's just me

Twickerhun · 30/06/2019 20:46

Sofia it’s pretty and Amelia has unfortunate medical connotations

Sophronia · 01/07/2019 00:11

Sofia but I prefer Sophia

DramaAlpaca · 01/07/2019 00:13

Sofia.

Isadora2007 · 01/07/2019 00:14

Would Sofie be an option?
I dislike the double “ah” in NoAH and sofiAH... or AmeliAH...
Sorry

Isadora2007 · 01/07/2019 00:14

Or Amelie ?

heartoftheocean · 01/07/2019 09:00

Im afraid Amelie is not an option for us.

Do you think Sofia Amelia would sound nice? Or Sofia Harper (still love Harper but feel its too trendy for first name). Or maybe Sofia Elsie? Really quite like the name Elsie too.

Sophia (but I'd spell it like that and not Sofia)

I don't like the matchy -a sounds at the end of each name but I guess it doesn't matter too much, the important thing is that you like the name.

I dislike Amelia, too fussy I think - too many syllables. I prefer Amy.

They are both very popular names (top 3) and I would personally go for something a bit less popular (ie not top 10), but if you really love the name that shouldn't matter too much.

SnowdropFox · 01/07/2019 09:31

Sofia Elsie is adorable to me

Isadora2007 · 01/07/2019 10:09

No Sofia Amelia also has the double ah thing going which is just annoying to the ear.
You’d be surprised how often you will say their names together and honestly the two ah sounds are like naff twin names to me... I’d actually prefer Harper.

Fatkins · 01/07/2019 10:14

I like Sofia Harper.

Icklepup · 01/07/2019 18:26

Sofia Harper
