They're all lovely but quite different. Are you aiming for an Irish name - Patrick and Orla the top?

Pinkfinkle · 28/06/2019 13:12

Patrick- not keen
Jonah- quite like this
Ezra- always been a fan
Isaac- it’s ok, not offensive but not great
Edward- I have an Edward, lovely name
Lucas- not a fan, massively common

Rory- this has grown on me recently
Alfred- would always be shortened to either Alfie or Freddie and both are very common

Girls

orla- like this
Esther- not a fan
Juliet- it’s ok but wouldn’t use it personally
Evangeline- ok but a bit much. I think it would be shortened to Eve or Eva which are common.

Eliza- it’s ok
Alice- love Alice, a real classic
Lilia- no
Dahlia- no

Sophie- common but I’ve always quite liked it
Emily- inoffensive but boring
Margo- usually Margot, I like it
Eleanor- no
Eloise- quite like it
Helena - it’s ok
Hannah- too 90s, not a fan
Keziah- no way
Lorna- no way

Love Joel, Zachary and Edward

Least favourites Alfred and Albert (obviously don’t like the ‘Al-‘ names!)

Love Louisa, Elouise, Marianne

Least favourite Irene, keziah, Esther

carmenbea · 29/06/2019 10:15

From your boys I like Ezra, Zachary and Rory best

I only like Orla from your girls list

IVflytrap · 29/06/2019 13:16

My top 5 of each:

Patrick
Jonah
Ezra
Joel
Zachary

Orla
Esther
Frances
Lorna
Irene

I think the following names are a bit overdone at this point:

Isaac, Edward, Albert, Alfred (the last three are extremely popular in nickname form: Teddy, Albie, Alfie)

Ava, Ivy, Holly, Sophie, Emily, Evangeline (not common, but the inevitable shortening 'Evie' very much is.)

Backhometothenorth · 29/06/2019 20:47

MrsBertBibby · 30/06/2019 00:20

Isaac
Edward
Esther

Owlbert · 02/07/2019 09:16

Like Ezra, Margo and love Eliana! Always hated Kezia and of the 3 I've known they've all pronounced it different ways all of which sound harsh or grating on the ears!

elliandher5 · 03/07/2019 18:02

My daughter is Ivy and I just adore the name! It's pretty and unique plus no one pronounces it wrong.

My name is actually Ellianna (different sp of eliana and god I wish mine was spelt that way!) it's a bit of a mouthful but I do get compliments on it and have never met another.
