Found out we’re having a girl! We have a shortlist of names but don’t have any that are jumping out at us.

Can you rank our names, and also throw in some ideas of your own 😊

The names are:

Iris
Eliza
Bonnie

Thanks for all the responses. Bonnie is my husbands favourite I think, but I had reservations. Worry it’ll be a name they’d dislike when they were older.

I have some more to add - some from suggestions you’ve sent through:

Cora
Rowan
Violet

Think I must like nature names a bit haha

I like Bonnie but I do think it will sound a bit less good when she's a teen/adult.

Iris is gorgeous, classic and will sound lovely at any age. Eliza is ok but a bit more usual.

Out of all 3 I think Eliza is the best. Iris is too "old lady" for me. and Bonnie is just... meh. neither here nor there for me!

but you have to pick which name YOU love. don't worry what everyone else thinks! (I know its hard when people are giving you opinions left right and centre!)

oh and with regards to other name ideas, how about:

Josie
Ella
Poppy
Hazel
Willow
Annabelle
Piper

I have a Great Aunt (still alive) called Hazel. I love the name but wouldn’t want people to think I was naming it after her. Think it’ll be hard to explain... ‘this is Hazel - oh after Aunty Hazel?’ Obviously that would only be within the family, but still.

I have quite an opinionated family where you can read from their faces if they hate a name. Just wouldn’t want the excitement of telling family her name to be ruined by someone just falsely nodding along ‘oh...that’s....interesting’
