Sibling name- similar nickname help!

Hi, we are expecting baby number 2 (don’t know boy or girl) we have a boys name which is top of our list however the natural nickname for this (Ru/Roo) would rhyme/ sound VERY similar to the nickname our son has acquired (Woo)... I’m now rethinking the name because of this? Would having brothers Woo and Roo be as weird as I am thinking? Or have I entered into mega pregnancy overthinking mode??

Yes....woo and roo is a little too much...I am assuming the name is Reuben...which is a lovely name....there are other nickname alternatives ...Ben, Benji? I think Roo is more for a little child so he would grow out of that nickname anyway...there’s also no issue with just using the whole name?

No way will the other child keep Woo when older so I really doubt this will be an issue

What is the name? Other nicknames might work?

You wouldn't have brothers Roo and Woo though, you could just use their actual names.

It's Rupert rather than Reuben... so not sure what other nicknames there would be. Good point though that woo is unlikely to stay a nickname as he grows up so may not be an issue...

I’ve known a couple of Ruperts nicknamed Roops, rather than Roo if that helps?

Rupert is often nicknamed Bear? I’m guessing Woo is a nickname rather than a shortened version, so DS2 could be too

I agree with pp that I doubt Woo will continue when he is older, so I think it would be fine. Also like nn of Bear for Rupert. I love Rupert, by the way!

Thank you! I love bear as a nick name, that's so cute! Xx
