Just wanted some thoughts, any connotations you think the names have etc. Thanks :)

I love Max, seems to suit a child through adult well.. very sweet but strong name.
Don't like the others.

Boys:
Joshua - ok, will be Josh
Finley - not keen will be Fin
Dexter - no. Will be Dex
Zachary - yes, will be Zac. very popular.
Max - yes
Rueben - it's Reuben. No

Girls:
Georgia - nice
Piper - surname. Piper Laurie the actress.
Amber - nice
Darcey - don't like it at all
Amelia - overused

Love Joshua, Max and Reuben for a boy and Darley and Amelia for a girl

Your boys' names are nice, apart from Dexter. Oh, and it's normally Reuben, not Rueben.

We don't have the same taste in girls' names at all. Amber is OK, but it's very 90s.

Joshua. Naughty name. Parents let h do as he pleases, sorry.
Max. One of those sly kids who everyone thinks is a little saint.
Finley. Nice name. Mischievous and fun loving child
Dexter. Lovely. I picture a sweet child with respectful parents.
Reuben. Nice name.
Zachary. See Joshua.

Georgia. I like the sound of it. Although I think of it as trouble makers name.
Piper. I picture a very sweet natured child. Blond hair and blue eyes.
Amber. Leaf tobacco. This is awful sorry. I really dont get the hype over this name.
Darcey. I love this. Impish but also very well mannered full of fun, always Lauging.
Amelia. Its okay. No connotations really.

Sad times lol although I wasn’t aware there was a hype? I like it because I don’t know anyone called Amber, but it’s not a crazy unheard of name...

Boys - I like Max and Zachary. Much prefer Finn over Finley. Joshua is okay, very mainstream. Dislike Dexter and Reuben - Rufus and Rupert are both brilliant but I just can't get on board with Reuben.

Girls - l love Georgia and really like Piper. Darcey just feels trendy and bland to me. Amber is okay. Amelia has never appealed to me.

Same here @Fulltimemummy85 I've always dismissed Amelia as "too popular" but come to think of it I've never come across one and my children are in their teens now.

OP I think all your name choices are nice, non offensive, no negative connotations.

Dexter reminds me of the show, but I quite like it. Your other boys names are nice, fairly common. Piper reminds of Piper Alpha. It's sad, but I guess moat people won't think of that now. I love Amber.

I think of Piper Alpha too villa.

Darcey : I once insulted the mother of a baby boy dressed in neutral colours by saying "Oh Darcey what a lovely name like the ballerina Darcey Bussell?!".

She said "No like Mr Darcy!" and had a wee flounce. I did feel bad but learned that it is used for boys too.

I always thought of Amelia as too popular too but I also don’t actually know any - whereas Bethany which I thought had gone out of fashion I know 5 under the age of 10! Which is why I’ve given up caring about popularity of names lol

I taught 5 Amelias in one class last year (not all the same spelling though) and 2 had the same last name! I really like Amber and love Ember if that is an option. Love Piper and like Georgia.
Boys wise Max and Dexter from your list. I'm sorry to those of you with Josh/Joshua's and I know it won't apply to all of them but every one I've met (and I've met a lot) have been challenging behaviour and attitude wise.

I only like Zachary from the boys and none of the girls names.

Never met a nice Georgia/Georgina so that name is ruined for me. A lot of the others are very 90s, especially Joshua. Haven’t heard it used in recent years but it was super popular when I was at school.

Boys:
Joshua - I am related to a Joshua I can't stand, but even so, the name is so good I can't hate it.
Finley - My neighbours dog
Dexter - My brothers dog (along with dee-dee)
Zachary - Very 90's, but a good solid ZACKKKKKK sound
Max - I really like MAAAXXXXXX
Rueben - Not at all feeing it.

Girls:
Georgia - Meh.
Piper - Pipe could be a hit or miss of a shortening in future
Amber - Meh.
Darcey - I like this, even though I can't help think of dancers and Colin Firth
Amelia - I love the variety of shortenings. This'd be a second choice of your girly list for me after Darcey

I think the girl names are all quite boring sorry
