What are your thoughts on Ottilie to be Ottie?

Cegbee · 16/06/2019 13:51

I really like it- it's on my girls list although DH is not so keen!

beargryllshasabigrope · 16/06/2019 13:58

Gorgeous name!

PeachesandPie · 16/06/2019 14:10

I know two under 2, so definitely getting more popular. Love Ottie as a nickname.

Expressedways · 16/06/2019 14:16

Love it, it’s DD’s middle name

Friolero · 16/06/2019 14:18

Really lovely name.

SundayMorningSun · 16/06/2019 14:22

I personally don't like it, but there's nothing objectively wrong with it. Might be a mouthful with some surnames, so worth checking that.

Shelbybear · 16/06/2019 14:24

Sounds made up

AudacityOfHope · 16/06/2019 14:39

Ottie is dreadful!

NameChangedNoImagination · 16/06/2019 14:40

Getting more popular. I prefer Ottiline.

CodenameVillanelle · 16/06/2019 14:41

I know a baby Ottie. I don't love it though it's growing on me because I know one but I wouldn't choose it.

AverageMummy · 16/06/2019 14:41

I like it

HoppityChicken · 16/06/2019 14:46

Favourite name!

trotesio · 16/06/2019 14:48

It's a Mumsnet special Grin

babysharkah · 16/06/2019 14:49

I love it

bluebluezoo · 16/06/2019 15:14

Love Ottilie. Not so keen on Ottie.

Tilly would work but there are many many Tilly’s if you are inclined to the less common.

Lavenderblues · 16/06/2019 15:52

I like it.

Personally not a fan, sounds like otter.

Flamingosnbears · 16/06/2019 16:06

Good choice, I always thought Ottilie and Imogen go well together...

KitKatKit · 16/06/2019 16:10

It's not very nice.

llewellyn25 · 16/06/2019 16:13

It's a beautiful name.

daisypond · 16/06/2019 16:38

I really dislike it. It’s ugly and clunky and people won’t know how to pronounce it. It’s having a moment now, so it’ll date as well.

JaneGlorianaVillanueva · 16/06/2019 16:55

I love it! I know one, and I'd never heard it before.

Then I became a mumsnetter and it seems to be everywhere on here! I do find though that people say they love it but dont actually use it, and in 2017 it was #226 so cant be that popular in real life!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 16/06/2019 16:56

I think it's lovely

drigon · 16/06/2019 17:00

Not keen on Ottilie, but I do like Ottie.
