Love this name. Is this the original spelling? If not how should I spell it?

Why am I reading that as Aleesha? Can it be pronounced this way too, sure I've seen it somewhere?

Alicia, I say Alizia though

PhossyJaw · 11/06/2019 08:03

Yes, Alicia. Though some people will pronounce that spelling ‘Aleesha’.

itiswhatitisx · 11/06/2019 08:03

I knew someone who named their dd Ellissia I thought it looked pretty like that

itiswhatitisx · 11/06/2019 08:13

I've seen it spelt as Alyssia too, So many different spellings!

I've seen it spelt in so many ways....
Alissia
Alisia
Elissia
Elisia
Alysia
Alyssia
Elysia
Elyssia
Alicia
Elicia
Alycia
Elycia

Then if you want a slightly different way to pronounce it there is...
Alesia
Alessia
Elesia
Elessia

I think your version is the most straight forward.
I love the name but always been put off by the many ways of spelling it and having to constantly spell it out for people, but I suppose that's the case with a lot of names with alternative spellings.

Alicia but be prepared for pronunciation & spelling issues no matter which you go for. Pretty name.

Willowkoko · 13/06/2019 12:01

Alessia is a gorgeous Italian name.

lucymegan · 16/06/2019 09:19

Op are you asking for opinions on Alissia pronouns al-is-i-ah? I think people on here have thought you've spelt Alicia wrong which is a totally different name.

AverageMummy · 16/06/2019 09:36

Alicia but some will pronounce the c the Italian way
