Just watching Milkshake with my dd and the presenter was reading out the birthday cards and one of them was for a girl called Indiana Jones, even the presenter giggled. I think it’s a great name.
Unfortunately we have a really long unusual surname, but has anyone else known or named their dc after someone famous?
I would love to hear!!

I went to school with Bob Marley and James Bond 😂😂😂

My name sounds a bit like Indiana Jones actually 😂 I got called it in primary school.

OKBobble · 07/06/2019 09:22

There is a Holly Woods in Ds class!

notacooldad · 07/06/2019 09:32

I know a few Michael Jackson's of various ages. ( usualluly called Mike or Mick though)

I also know few Chris Evan's as well and 2 Chris Brown's ( one f and one m)

I don't know anyone with an 'out there name such as the Indiana Jones example but I do know a lot of fames namesake.
If you think about if it's an ordinary surname such as Brown, Evans, Jackson etc it's bound to happen a lot.

qazxc · 07/06/2019 09:44

With common names it more likely (i.e. Michael is fairly common and Jackson is also).
The danger of this is that the celebrity namesake turn out to be massive twat, rapist, paedophile, wife beater,...

FartnissEverbeans · 07/06/2019 10:27

I knew a Jack Sparrow

StringyPotatoes · 07/06/2019 10:37

In my sister's class alone there was a Liam Gallagher, a Jack Jones, and a Kate Tunstall!

JeremyIronsBenFolds · 07/06/2019 10:56

Went to school with a Lois Lane!

RuthW · 07/06/2019 12:40

My daughter has a famous name. The pop star was unheard of when she was born.

Dollywilde · 07/06/2019 12:44

Oooh. I think that might be the niece of someone I know (unless there are two!) - did you hear how old the kid was OP?

CatkinToadflax · 07/06/2019 13:04

My parents’ former neighbour is a Joan Collins and DS’s teacher is Jane Austen.

Quintella · 07/06/2019 13:11

Poor kid. I'd absolutely hate to be named after a fictional character. The joke would wear verrrrrrrrrrry thin.

Quintella · 07/06/2019 13:14

And there's a massive difference between accidentally ending up with a famous person's name, there must be so many David Camerons and Kate Middletons about, and giving your child the first and last name of an extremely famous fictional character.

anothernotherone · 07/06/2019 13:33

Tracy Ireland (Tracy Island, Thunderbirds - unintentional apparently) but other than that no, I don't think so.

Indiana Jones is so deliberate as to be a decidedly odd and potentially cruel parental decision, especially for a girl. Why Indiana? Perhaps the parents come from the American state, but even so, most proud Yorkshiremen manage to restrain themselves from naming their daughter Yorkshire Pudding Smith... Indiana Jones is a very niche decision indeed to make for your baby daughter...

overnightangel · 07/06/2019 13:38

Not to be picky but Indiana Jones wasn’t his name, it was Henry Jones Junior .... Indiana was his dog Wink

I went to school with a Lincoln Abrahams (yes in that order)

1happyhippie · 07/06/2019 13:44

I know a peter Parker (although he is known as Pete).
Also an Ian Beale.

BarryBarryTaylor · 07/06/2019 14:36

I think they said she was 3...it was first thing this morning BlushGrin

I suppose if you have a Jones, Evans, Williams type surname it’s really easily done. Kind of makes me wish we had a popular surname 😆

leghairdontcare · 07/06/2019 14:38

We named the dog Indiana!

(I actually think Indiana is a cool name but if their surname is Jones they've probably gone to far)

Has anyone seen Office Space? Michael Bolton.

HeartvsHead · 07/06/2019 14:39

I loved the name Isla when I was younger but now have the surname White...

BarryBarryTaylor · 07/06/2019 14:54

Haha Isla White 😊 that’s actually a beautiful name but I don’t know if I could do it...

I knew a lady who was obsessed with Michael Jackson her last name was Jackson her children was called Michael (obviously) Paris and randomly I think one was Danny Grin

notacooldad · 07/06/2019 15:01

We have a female relative whose surname is Taylor. Her first name is a nice fairly common for a young woman but should never under any circumstances be put with the second name.
I'm not making it up and I was shocked when I was introduced her.

ILoveDaveGrohl · 07/06/2019 15:02

@TurquoiseAndPurple I know a bob Marley and a James Bond too!!

Quintella · 07/06/2019 15:03

beansonbread · 07/06/2019 15:04
