Just wondering peoples thoughts on Noah for our DS due soon.

I’m not worried about popularity - interested in people’s opinion of the name in general.

Middle name would probably be Patrick.

Thanks in advance!

I used to love the name Noah but then I started hearing it everywhere and it sounds awful in some accents which put me off. Just really...unfinished.

If you live somewhere with a lovely accent I'd go for it - it's not that common. Probably wouldn't be the only one in his school with the name, but likely to be the only Noah in his class.

Love Noah and love Patrick

BlueMerchant · 03/06/2019 21:03

I like classic names. I think it's a good name. Suits all ages and is dignified and strong.

LeukaeLucky · 03/06/2019 21:04

Was my first choice for my ds but his dad vetoed it. I love it

onalongsabbatical · 03/06/2019 21:06

Noah Patrick - ooo, lovely! Great names and great combo, OP.

Freyasmum1 · 03/06/2019 21:08

Lovely 😊

daisypond · 03/06/2019 21:09

It’s OK, but I wouldn’t use it, because I find the Noah story off-putting.

Fivefootoffun · 03/06/2019 21:18

Thanks all - more positive than what I thought would be. If it was my choice alone he’d be Patrick but DH not having it!

Thanks for feedback.

Noah is a lovely name, it goes nice with Patrick as a middle name.

Miljah · 03/06/2019 21:54

I like it.

Noah Patrick works!

Malyshek · 03/06/2019 22:12

It's fine. Not my first choice but it is not a name that will attract any negative attention. Bit reoigi

Malyshek · 03/06/2019 22:13

Sent too fast. Bit religious for my liking but otherwise a fine name.

lavenderblues · 03/06/2019 22:37

I'm not keen on the sound- a bit like a whiny No - and it sounds similar to the girl's name Noa.

Patrick is lovely!

Tillygetsit · 03/06/2019 22:42

I love it. Patrick (nn Paddy which was how I snuck it past DH) was on our ds list for number 3 but it didnt suit her!

Lobsterquadrille2 · 03/06/2019 22:48

Love it.

BellMcEnd · 03/06/2019 22:50

Love it. Noah is a great name and goes v well with Patrick

SemperIdem · 03/06/2019 22:51

I think it is a lovely name. I’ve never actually met one, though I know it is a popular name overall.

Bluerussian · 03/06/2019 22:59

I like the name, Noah, very much indeed but it has become fashionable and may soon be quite 'common'. That would stop me calling a child Noah.

Chocmallows · 03/06/2019 22:59

It's a middle-ground name to me, but I think I would like it if I heard it more. Goes well with Patrick.

JaneGlorianaVillanueva · 03/06/2019 23:12

I really like it! I'd probably add it to my own list but I have a 12 year old family member called Noah!

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2019 23:17

I don't like Noah at all, sorry, never have. I just don't like those two sounds together.

I absolutely love Patrick though, but not any of the diminutives so it's a perfect middle name.

sarahjaneg · 03/06/2019 23:19

My 7yr old is noah- chosen by his big brother when we couldn't think of a name! There'a only one other in the whole school ( and it's a Catholic school) not just saying it but every Noah I've met has been a lovely child and very sweet- including mine! 😂
I do think it's a bit like marmite - people seem to really like or really dislike it x

Fivefootoffun · 04/06/2019 06:38

Thanks all - good to get this feedback, much appreciated.

My most disliked boys name. Sounds like a strained protest!

Penny4Thoughts · 04/06/2019 08:06
