Help! We're stuck. Bonus points if it's a little bit Indian and/or a little bit Biblical and not weird sounding Grin

Another option is baby name meaning peace. Or a cool version of Moses because hubs thinks Moses is possibly a bit stuffy Confused. Lol!

Names meaning hope:

Amal (m/f) - Arabic
Arman - Persian
Asha - Indian (f), but you could use Asher as a sound-a-like?
Omid (m/f) - Persian

Mattan, Dillon and Kit all mean ' ray of hope/Hope of the Lord'

Names meaning redemption:

Priam - ancient Greek "redeemed"
Salvador, Salvatore etc - "saviour, redeemer"
Fadi - Arabic "saviour"

Doubtoftheordinary · 03/06/2019 18:30

Isaiah and Joshua both mean "God saves" which is closely linked to the idea of redemption. Or you could look at stories in the Bible about redemption. IIRC, Boaz was Ruth's kinsman-redeemer and foreshadowed the idea of Christ redeeming mankind. Or how about Isaac, from the story where he's about to sacrifice and God provides a lamb to be offered in his place/ to redeem him?

Priam is a bit close to priapism!

@Frith2013 Well I wouldn't suggest Priapus as a name, for sure...

Priam was the king of Troy. I don't really think of them as that similar, but I guess I see your point!

Loving the suggestions. They've given me some ideas - keep them coming. I knew what I wanted for my daughter and brought DH around to it. This time, not so much.

@SundayMorningSun - son of Troy is what I thought of too Wink. Must have been Odyssey as I didn't enjoy Ulysses as much when I was a child. Also does have an Indian ring to it - although would probably be pronounced differently in that case. Means 'love' in Tamil.
Also really like Arman.

@DoubtoftheOrdinary Isaiah is on the list along with Shay, a diminutive.

@WaterSnail - also love Eli, is one of DH's favourites.
