Opinions on this name?
Would you imagine a boy or girl?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't like it sorry. Sylvester Stallone had a son named it though 🤷🏻‍♀️

piekebab · 31/05/2019 09:34

And onion

Maiden247 · 31/05/2019 09:37

Really!?!?!

PolarBearBubbles · 31/05/2019 09:38

I like it, I think it's moved up the rankings a bit the last couple of years, although nothing close to top 100 or so (in my eyes a good thing!)
I see it as a girls name.

HoppyHop · 31/05/2019 09:46

I think of the accountancy software package of the same name. So although it's a nice name that's what I think of!

Zigzagpolar · 31/05/2019 09:51

I think it’s nice. I taught a little boy called sage. Maybe 8 or 9 yo. He introduced himself as Steve- so that’s what I called him, till his mum complained!( this was just an after school club) Have you considered Steve? Not enough Steves around!

DNAwrangler · 31/05/2019 09:52

I've met two Sages, both girls.

happyhillock · 31/05/2019 09:54

Don't like it

Mesmeri · 31/05/2019 09:57

The only one I've met was a know-all hippy guy in his 40s and I'm pretty sure it wasn't his real name, I think he probably thought he was really wise (but probably herbal too) so that would put me off.

mulberrybag · 31/05/2019 10:02

Love it!!!!! Like really love it 💗

CatSmize · 31/05/2019 10:31

I love it. I know a girl with that name.

millymae · 31/05/2019 10:53

There’s no reason why you can’t use it as a name - it’s a herb (and so is Rosemary), a software package and a word that can be used to describe someone who is wise.
It’s a name that could probably be used for either sex but I think it’s more girly simply because it rhymes with Paige which is a girls name.
Having said all that, for some reason I don’t really see it as a ‘proper’ name yet, but that’s not to say it won’t become one if people use it. Not sure that makes sense but I know what I mean!

GrassIsntGreener · 31/05/2019 11:34

Makes me think of onion

TheJoxter · 31/05/2019 11:38

I like it. I’d assume a boy. I also like Basil for a boy

MikeUniformMike · 31/05/2019 11:55

Accounting software

Whatareyoutalkingabout · 31/05/2019 13:46

Lovely. I'd assume it was a little girl.

Sexnotgender · 31/05/2019 13:48

It’s not awful but I probably wouldn’t choose it.

I’d say it’s a girls name.

Littlebird88 · 31/05/2019 13:48

i know one a boy.
no joke his sister is rosemary

continuallychargingmyphone · 31/05/2019 13:48

I know a Sage - male. I call him parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. He just rolls his eyes at me Grin

PandaG · 31/05/2019 13:51

I know one, a girl, so think of it as a girl's name.

ErrantTesselation · 31/05/2019 13:55

I think it could work for either sex, but I'd feel a bit silly calling it across a playground tbh.

Peachbubble · 31/05/2019 14:27

There are nicer names

userabcname · 31/05/2019 14:30

I immediately thought girl but it would work just as well for a boy. I like it.

Vendeedreamer · 31/05/2019 14:30

Totally outing but my surnames Sage... and I have a cat named Basil Sage 😀

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 31/05/2019 15:32

I think of accountancy
