Fraser?

We are struggling for a name for dc2 due in a few weeks, we have a name sorted if its a girl but struggling for boys.
We both like Fraser, but wondering if we can use it as we are not scottish.

If everyone stuck to names of their own origin, the vast majority of “normal” names probably wouldn’t be around. I honestly don’t think it matters

I love it - as silly as I know this is I do feel it is a cheeky /naughty boys name mainly as the Fraser in DS nursery caused carnage wherever he went!

I'm Scottish and I know a lot of Frasers - but I don't think there's some rule against using it if you're not Scottish lol. Go for it!

I think it’s unusual to have as many consecutive positive responses to a name thread as this has.

Now I’ve written that there’ll be someone along to say they hate it and you have to be 4th generation pure Scot to use it Wink

It’s great. It’s on our shortlist alongside Joel. My name app suggests Fraser is Scottish and frasier is English but i don’t think there’s really any difference

Worked with a really cool Fraser recently... smart and artsy, used to be in a band! Totally made me rethink the name.

I know two adult Frazers neither is remotely Scottish!

Don't like it. I've never met a Fraser who wasn't a total bore. And they're usually loud too in a 'I'm crazy I am' kind of way.

It's a nice enough name, not really my style but that doesn't matter. The important thing is you've found a name you both like.

With millions of Amelies and Isabellas I really think Scottish names won’t raise an eyebrow
