Considering giving impending DC the initials RAC. How bad do you think that is? What's your reaction?

Not an issue.

Amibeingdaft81 · 30/05/2019 19:01

Fine

Isadora2007 · 30/05/2019 19:02

Nah that’s fine. I can only imagine stupid “jokes” such a shame hope s/he doesn’t have a breakdown

Aquamarine1029 · 30/05/2019 19:02

No problem whatsoever in my opinion.

BollocksIsTheWord · 30/05/2019 19:04

Initials are never even used in my opinion. Not an issue

OhhMyLittleGirls · 30/05/2019 19:14

imo its not a problem at all

FraterculaArctica · 30/05/2019 19:23

Thanks all. I thought not really a problem but wanted to canvas for reactions!

Clubbercised · 30/05/2019 19:38

Totally fine.

BeachCrow · 30/05/2019 19:45

They're my initials and never been a problem.

Icklepup · 30/05/2019 19:56

Fine

cargghkkk · 30/05/2019 20:42

What does everyone think of the initials BMW? (Sorry to jump on your thread OP hope you don't mind!)

PeachNut · 30/05/2019 20:44

Had brill sex at uni with a BMW....

babycakes1010 · 30/05/2019 20:46

My Ds is a BMW

Proseccofuelled · 30/05/2019 21:18

I’m usually the one saying don’t be ridiculous of course BJ is a problem - RAC aren’t amazing but would not be a deal breaker for me whatsoever - add a second middle name if it worries you

mamabluestar · 30/05/2019 21:18

DS is a JAC. I thought he might get called Jack but nobody ever notices until it's pointed out

Proseccofuelled · 30/05/2019 21:19

@cargghkkk I think BMW is a small step further but still not terrible & wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me

ThatCurlyGirl · 30/05/2019 21:23

My brother is BJ, tbh has had a lot less comments on it over the years than we'd expect! Everyone except our family calls us both by a shortened version of our surname though so I guess they never really think of him as a B.

shirleyschmidt · 30/05/2019 21:28

RAC yes
BMW no (sorry! Could you swap them round??)

WeaselsRising · 30/05/2019 21:29

I don't think RAC is a problem at all, but RC (most likely used in school) might be. (Arsey).

Joeybee · 31/05/2019 01:02

That's fine. Initials are only really bad when they spell something like FUK or BUM, something similar where it could be embarrassing. RAC isn't going to be something kids think to tease a child about

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 31/05/2019 16:08

Ds was almost a BJ, so we changed it.

Mollie85 · 31/05/2019 17:12

If you work in an office initials are used constantly.

However, it’s fine 😆

FraterculaArctica · 31/05/2019 17:18

Interesting I hadn't even thought about the RC thing but that must be SO common I'm not convinced it's worth worrying about. Don't want to add a second middle name as other DC have one each. Agree that initials do get used in the workplace but only by grownups so unless they spell something truly awful I'd expect adults to not even notice.

Seriously? They are used many times a day in Dp's Ds' and my job and all four of us do vastly different types of work.
