Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/05/2019 01:45

Juliet. Very middle class. Which is fine if you are, but If you're working class. Its just being something you're not.
Evangeline. See Juliet.
Marianne. No too clunky.
Margot. Awful
Evelyn. Horrible and very harsh.
Frances. Nice name, but too masculine for me. It'd be gorgeous as a middle name.
Elizabeth. Can't fault this.
Eliza See Elizabeth
Miriam. Gorgeous but again very middle class.
Ava. Surely the Ava obsession is over now.
Esther. Can't get past McVey, I'm afraid.
Hannah. Classic. Suits all ages and classes. Grows well with the person
Lucinda. No.
Sophie. Its okay, a bit meh, but Its a safe name.
BeAtrix. Good nn potentials such as Beattie or Trixie, but I'm not over kean and also very middle class.
Elena Pronounced El-ay-na yes.
El-un-a. No.
Elin. Nice sweet name
Alice. See Elin
Marielle. Not really. Seems like one of those names that will become really popular and date very quickly.
Niamh. Horrible.
Alexandra. Classy and elegant.
Reyna. Love this.
Emily. Love this and its not as common now.
Aoife. No. Also as pp says. I think people will struggle with pronunciation and spelling.
Julietta. Julie eat what.
Ettie. Awful.
Lainey. Nice name, but I'd use a more formal name on her bc. Elaine. Melanie. Marlene. Madelaine.

Susiedog · 27/05/2019 11:19

Juliet - I like. I've never actually met one.
Evangeline - I just picture a very posh private school girl.
Marianne - I quite like this. Prefer Marianna.
Evelyn - Love this. It's quite popular and often shortened to Evie.
Frances - I don't like, but may be because the only ones I've known have been frilly old ladies.
Margot - Not keen, but like Margie.
Elizabeth - Lovely classic with so many shortening options. Personal favourites are Betsy and Libby.
Eliza - Beautiful. It was always on my short list.
Miriam - I prefer Marion.
Ava - I like but way too popular.
Esther - It's OK. Could be shortened to Essie.
Hannah - DD's name so naturally love this (and so does she)
Lucinda - I like, but prefer Lucy or Luciana.
Sophie - Another of my all time favourites. Also love Sophia.
Beatrix - I prefer Beatrice.
Elena - I love pronounced El-ay-na.

FizzyGreenWater · 27/05/2019 20:05

Juliet
Marianne
Margot
Beatrice is better
Sophie

are the ones I like

Clubbercised · 27/05/2019 21:22

I adore Miriam and Esther! Love them.

I know a solid gold bellend named Reyna, so you definitely can't use that Wink.

I don't like Ettie, except as a shortening (and I'm not one of those who insists shorter versions of longer names must never be put on the BC or anything). Also Ettie autocorrects to Error on my phone. It's a sign!

Clubbercised · 27/05/2019 21:23

Margot and Juliet also very nice
