Matthew.

NCforthisone19 · 19/05/2019 23:21

My neighbour's two cats are quite literally Hugo and Milo.

Matthew

Matthew. I love it, underused classic these days.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 19/05/2019 23:25

Hugo definitely!

I usually love classic names, but there were so many Matthews in my year at school it’s just so beige to me now.

Myles is pretty cool, but I prefer it spelt Miles.

Bowerbird5 · 19/05/2019 23:25

I like all of them. I like Hugo and know a little boy called this, I had a Miles at school which you could shorten to Milo. I have a Matthew, it is a good solid name. There are notably more Matthews than there are the other two names so it depends whether you want something more unusual/ uncommon or not.

Upupupandawayagain · 19/05/2019 23:27

Wow ! Matthew is a very popular choice. I did think it would sound very fresh on a little boy today .

Matthew James sounds lovely but I like all your options

Upupupandawayagain · 19/05/2019 23:31

Mylo are Hugo are more popular where I live (Surrey) , I don't know any little boys called Matthew .

Matthew.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 19/05/2019 23:38

Matthew James is a very common combination so you will get a number of people saying “oooh - my dad / brother / nephew / cat is Matthew James too!”

So if being “special and unique” is important to you then don’t use that combination.

However, the reason it is so common is because it is a great sounding combination of two fabulous names.

(I speak from experience here. Grin)

Matthew is neither common nor uncommon (two in ds’s year of 90, 1 in dd’s Year of 90), no problems with pronounciation, occasionally people spell it with only one “t” but Matthew is by far the typical spelling.

Lemoncurd · 19/05/2019 23:38

I have a Matthew James, don't think he has known any other Matthew at school. Like the other names too, in fact considered both but they were a total no from DH.

BlackPrism · 19/05/2019 23:42

Milo

Sophronia · 19/05/2019 23:43

Matthew

Hugo, love it! I'm hoping no one close to me uses it before I have a little boy, my sister has her eye on it too.

parabailarlabamba · 20/05/2019 09:02

Matthew definitely. Hugo is ok

Cbeebiesrehab · 20/05/2019 09:15

Mylo/Milo followed by Hugo.

I don’t really like Matthew, it feels a little dated to my ear, although I do appreciate it’s a classic.

SallyWD · 20/05/2019 09:16

Matthew's lovely or Hugo

piefacedClique · 20/05/2019 09:16

I love the name Hugo xxxx

TheRedBarrows · 20/05/2019 09:22

Milo, spelt Milo
Matthew
Hugo

All great names though.

Maybe as James is a classic name (and ‘apostle’ name) go for Milo or Hugo as first name?

Littlebelina · 20/05/2019 09:25

Matthew (dd would have been a Matthew if she was a boy)
