Opinions pls, our two favourite girl names are Caitlin or Scarlett but don't know if we can use them together, if they flow right.
Scarlett Caitlin or
Caitlin Scarlett
Which is better or if can't use both together then other middle name suggestions for either? Thanks.

Caitlin Scarlet sounds fine together although not a huge fan of Scarlet - what about Caitlin Juliet ?

Clownfish123 · 19/05/2019 20:15

I love Scarlett, they sound fine together either way round. I think Scarlett is so pretty.

Happyandglorious · 19/05/2019 21:33

Scarlett hands down.

Caitlin/Scarlett Elizabeth.

Heratnumber7 · 19/05/2019 22:33

How would you pronounce Caitlin? The correct Irish way or the incorrect English way?

DramaAlpaca · 19/05/2019 23:26

What Heratnumber7 said ^^

Complainingagain · 20/05/2019 02:37

I hate Caitlyn. Scarlett is lovely!

Myfoolishboatisleaning · 20/05/2019 03:36

Scarlett Caitlyn is pretty if you use the correct pronunciation. If you were using the American pronunciation (Kate-lynn) it sounds hideous.

PoorRichard · 20/05/2019 09:17

The American mispronunciation of a perfectly nice Irish name is just awful, in the realm of 'Chevonne' or 'Neev'. Cáitlín, properly pronounced and spelled, is nice.

Astronica · 20/05/2019 10:11

Scarlett Caitlin. (Though it sounds fine either way).

Omahasomewhereinmiddleamerica · 20/05/2019 17:07

I hate Caitlin. Never met a nice one

Fulltimemummy85 · 20/05/2019 17:13

Hate Caitlyn love Scarlett. Don't like Scarlett Caitlyn, Caitlyn Scarlett sounds better

daisypond · 20/05/2019 17:27

Caitlin Scarlett is too much Gone With The Wind for me - Katie Scarlett. If you want to use both, put Scarlett first.

I'd genuinely be interested to hear what the correct pronunciations of Caitlin, Siobhan and Niamh are? I'm not American, but I would pronounce them Kate-Lyn, Chevonne (I work with one who pronounces it like that) and Neev as you describe. What should they be?

Harebel · 20/05/2019 17:32

Looks like captain Scarlett so it's a no from me

BigusBumus · 20/05/2019 17:44

Kathleen is how Caitlyn is pronounced i think.

Marlena1 · 20/05/2019 19:47

@flowery it' like cotch-leen. Your other pronouncuations are correct

Heratnumber7 · 20/05/2019 20:12

Sort of half way between Kathleen and Cotchleen. Difficult to describe in English.

Kathryn3C · 21/05/2019 15:33

Thanks for replies. I think I am leaning towards Scarlett Caitlin

I prefer Caitlin. For me scarlett is very severe and Caitlin is a much nicer name, also I don't think it's very common nowadays.
