Boy name shortlist

We are finding out the gender in 3 weeks. Girl name is nailed down and has been for a while. Boy name is so much harder.

Due to a previous loss it is very important to me that this child has a name (that I can get used/attached to) at some point between now and the next scan. I know minds can change once you meet the baby, but it is important for me that this baby has an... identity if something were to happen again. I probably don’t make sense.

In any case, I am basically on bed rest right now and thinking about names is nicer than staring at the ceiling.

SO and I already agreed on middle name Orson. (The one boy name I really like but SO only likes as middle name)

Which do you prefer out of:

Bennett/Bennet (?) Orson

Edward Orson

Frederick Orson

I also think Samuel could work, but not sure?

Thank you :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 18/05/2019 15:00

Bennett is my fav!

BlueMerchant · 18/05/2019 15:01

Definitely Edward from your list. Its classic. Samuel is nice but not sure it gels with Orson. I really dislike Bennett/Bennet- sorry.

BlueMerchant · 18/05/2019 15:02

Sorry for being childish but just saw B.O as initials.

Elemental · 18/05/2019 15:04

I think they’re all lovely, but especially Bennett. It’s completely understandable that you want your little person to have an identity, best wishes for your next scan.

Wynterstale · 18/05/2019 15:07

BlueMerchant - Well, the full initials would be BOD, so I guess he’d already have a stripper mame ready Grin

Edward is nice. I'm not keen on the others. Hope all goes well for you Flowers

Proseccofuelled · 18/05/2019 16:44

I love Edward or Edwin if you prefer more unusual choices
What about Emmett?

Calixtine · 18/05/2019 18:04

Edward Orson is nice. You could call him Teddy Bear! Bear

Watersnail · 18/05/2019 18:13

Not Samuel if the other initials are OD. I really like Frederick but FOD reminds me of ODFOD! Bennett Orson sounds too surnamey to me. So Edward wins Smile

Watersnail · 18/05/2019 18:16

Bod

fluffyblankets · 18/05/2019 18:28

Edward is my fav too! I like Frederick, but maybe only because if our baby had been a boy he would have been Freddie!
Congratulations OP, hope everything goes smoothly!

IcelandicYoghurt · 18/05/2019 21:38

Edward is good.

Maybe Benedict?

Bunnybigears · 18/05/2019 21:42

I like Edward from your list but I also like...
Henry Orson
Benjamin Orson
Thomas Orson

BikeRunSki · 18/05/2019 21:46

Orson means bear cub, so Edward Orson is Teddy Bear

Wynterstale · 18/05/2019 22:23

I do like Benedict as well! Just worried it’s too religious?

And I don’t mind Teddy Bear, it’s cute and he’d just go by Edward as a grown up/in a professional setting anyway :D

Love Edward

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/05/2019 15:23

Samuel

Chocolatecake12 · 19/05/2019 15:28

Edward Orson is an amazing name. It’s strong and will suit a baby, toddler, young boy, teenager and grown man.
It’s got a couple of lovely nn too - ted/teddy, Ed/Eddy.
Good luck op Flowers

Icklepup · 20/05/2019 11:31

Edward Orson

Astronica · 20/05/2019 16:21

My favourite is Edward Orson, but I do think they are all good names.

SilverySurfer · 20/05/2019 16:28

I like Edward. Orson, reminds me of Robin Williams in Mork and Mindy - Mork calling Orson Grin

Kanga83 · 20/05/2019 17:57

I love Bennett (I also love Emmet and Benedict that have a similar feel. My girl would have been Benedict if she'd been a boy). Sorry, hate Frederick and there are loads of Edwards about already.

ParadiseLaundry · 20/05/2019 18:02

I actually love all of those names but I adore Bennett!

Trebla · 21/05/2019 07:55

I like Fredrick Orson.

We have a George Orson and he calls himself George Awesome. It's so cool.
