Alice
Harriet
Florence
Abigail
Phoebe (I love Phoebe, it would be perfect for a baby, child, teenager ans possibly a granny - but not sure if I can picture a middle aged Phoebe?)
Also, if anyone here is named Alice themselves, do you like your name? I love it but I feel like it's quite dated.
Thank you!

I like Alice and Harriet from your list.

Susiedog · 16/05/2019 11:25

Phoebe is my favourite from your list and was always on my short list.
I think maybe your worry is just due to their currently not being many middle aged Phoebe's? All the ones I know age from babies to teens.
However, by the time your daughter is middle aged, there will be plenty of women called Phoebe and it will suit that age group (if that makes sense?).
It's a beautiful name.

Alice is a lovely classic name. It's my daughter's middle name (named after one of her Great Grandma's). I wouldn't say it's dated.
I think Phoebe Alice sounds lovely.

Harriet is lovely, another classic name. I love Hattie!

I like Florence, but prefer it shortened to Florrie rather than Flo.

I also really like Abigail. All the ones I know are called Abbie more often than the full name. There was one mum who insisted her daughter was only called Abigail as she didn't like Abbie, but people still shortened it regardless.

I like Florence and Abigail best.

daisypond · 16/05/2019 12:46

I like all your names. Phoebe is my favourite. But is it dated? The ones I know are in their 20s or late teens. Alice is lovely and classic. I like Abigail but I’m not keen on Abby. Florence is nice but perhaps a style of name that is heading out of fashion. Harriet is my least favourite. I find it very dull and worthy.

FlowersXx · 16/05/2019 12:49

Those are all some of my favourites!

I think I would rank them:

Harriet
Phoebe
Alice
Abigail
Florence

Harriet is currently top of my girls list, and Phoebe, Alice and Abigail would also be in it but they don’t work with my surname Sad

NuffSaidSam · 16/05/2019 13:41

I really like all of them except Abigail.

Florence is very popular and that would put me off.

Harriet is lovely and underused. Alice is lovely and I like Ally as a nickname or Liss/Lissy, also quite underused.

Phoebe is my favourite though! I love it!

I like Phoebe and Alice from your list.

I have an Alice and so far she's said she likes her name

tazzy73 · 16/05/2019 15:10

Love Alice, it's my DD 2nd name. Also know an Alice and she's so nice so that sticks with me when I hear that name.

I also have an Abby, not Abigail (I'm in Ireland, we don't do the full name on birth cert and then give nick names).

Not mad into Florence and think Phoebe is a bit bland.

Tazzy.

Alice - nice & simple
Harriet - love the nickname Hattie
Florence - not a fan
Abigail - dated
Phoebe - sweet name I do see on anyone / age

BlueMerchant · 16/05/2019 15:29

Alice is by far the best. Beautiful, classic and timeless.
Others are 'ok' with the exception of Pheobe which isn't!

HollyBen · 16/05/2019 15:34

Phoebe or Alice are my favourites. Not keen on Florence or Abigail

pilates · 16/05/2019 15:35

I like them all except Florence. If I had to choose it would be Harriet.

Stephanie01 · 16/05/2019 21:19

Thank you all! I am pleasantly surprised to hear the good feedback about Phoebe. I think I might cut Florence from the list too.
I feel like Harriet is always going to be a name that people either love or hate.

I think I just need to stop over thinking the names and see which one my husband picks when bub arrives.
