How creative can we get?

I like Annie and can think of Ann, Annabelle for a name that Annie can be a diminutive of... any others? I'm also very willing to use Annie as a birth certificate name but I'm curious to alternatives

:)

My suggestions have been made

@SnowyAlpsAndPeaks, I believe that “N” abbreviations of names like Nell for Helen/Eleanor; Ned for Edward; Nan(cy) for Ann originates from medieval (?). English when “mine” meant “belonging to my family”. So “Mine Ellen” corrupted to “My Nelly” etc. I’m not a historian or linguist, but can see endings getting corrupted in time too.

My grandmother was named Annie on her birth certificate. I had assumed it must be short for something because she was born in 1901 and I thought people back then chose 'proper' names.

I love it. If I'd had a girl, I would have chosen Annie, but I have two boys!

Anastasia is beautiful. Just gorgeous my granny was the opposite, she was Glashow born, named Anne but known as Nancy. X
