Lucas - how common?

Due DS3 in September. Thinking of Lucas as his name. Is this a popular name? Also does it go with his brothers names, Nathan & Bradley? Really liked Lewis aswell but a family member named her DS Louis and I feel it's too similar.

Go with Lewis if you like it.
I know 5 boys named Luke/Lucas

I know one Lucas who is 18. Not had a baby born at work with that name for about 20 years. It goes well with your others. Go for it.

It was 25th last year I think, and moving up, but that's not massively 5 in a class popular.

I know a few.

These days parents all strive for uniqueness so there aren’t any 10 a class names - even the top names are less than a child a class statistically. So Lucas is significantly less popular than that - but it’s all relative & depends what you’re after.

It’s one of my favourite boys names

I work in a primary school of over 800 pupils. We have 2 boys called Lucas, one Luke and a Luca.

My BIL just had a Lucas a few weeks ago. He’s the only one I know though I do know two small Lukes.

Thanks everyone, I was curious to see if it went with his brothers names too. We have quite a long surname so easy to say first names work best I think. I really like the name and the more I say it the more I like it. Decision made I think. Thank you :-)

I have a 1yo Lucas, its a great name imo 😊.

I know of one other from baby groups/nursery etc, and also 1 Luca.

We also had Nathaniel/Nathan on our list so I'd say they go!

Lovely name. None in my current school (primary with 370 pupils). There was only one in my last school though, (and a Luca) so I'd say it's not hugely popular (although of course that might be down to geography 🤷‍♀️). Countless Olivers and Jacks (I have three of each in my current class!) and I have two Lukes 🤦‍♀️ It all gets very confusing!! 😂

Both sound nice with your other names...I do prefer Lucas though 😊

I love the name Lucas - but thought I’d just say that on One Tree Hill (an American tv series from a few years ago) the two main characters were brothers called Nathan and Lucas.

It’s quite old now so I doubt many people would make the connection !

Popular in my DC’s school, all three of them have a Lucas in their class. Was popular in their last school (in a different town) too.
