Hi all,

Just wanted to get everyone’s opinions on the name Rupert??
Even I feel like it’s an old fashioned posh persons name but I just love it. All of my friends and family are not impressed.

Un - bear - able.
Sorry.

HollyBen · 11/05/2019 14:04

I really don't like it but it's your child

OublietteBravo · 11/05/2019 14:07

I quite like it (although I don’t think it’s a name I’d choose personally). I know a Rubert (yes - definitely spelt like that) who goes by Roo - which is quite cute for a small boy.

Peachbubble · 11/05/2019 14:08

I like it. Like the nn Roo as well.

jcq17 · 11/05/2019 14:13

The bear. It's a no from me.

formerbabe · 11/05/2019 14:34

It's a typical posh boy type name and rather wet. We actually call them Rupert types...couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag!

TrixieFranklin · 11/05/2019 14:42

Love

ZsaZsaMc · 11/05/2019 14:44

I like it - and not posh. I also like Arthur, Jude and Wilfred

Summerwalk · 11/05/2019 14:44

Just awful. Agree it's a wet name. It's pretentious and just blah

RattyTat · 11/05/2019 15:10

It's terrible

99bb · 11/05/2019 15:55

I love it! Wanted to use it for my son but couldn’t.

Rupert is really manly to me.

PlatypusLeague · 11/05/2019 15:57

Not keen, but love Rufus as an alternative.

Lavenderblues · 11/05/2019 15:58

I like it.

Shadow1234 · 11/05/2019 16:05

It's a no from me. Just not to my taste.

OddBoots · 11/05/2019 16:09

I love it but it is an old family name so that may be why.

diddlediddle · 11/05/2019 16:13

A bit wet tbh

DramaAlpaca · 11/05/2019 16:14

Not for me. It's posh & wet.

Pearpickinpenguin · 11/05/2019 16:15

I LOVE it. I heard it a few years ago when a friend of a friends child was given the name and like others, I absolutely loathed it at the time but the more irrationally irritated I became by the name the more I said it and i now absolutely adore the name and If I could have more children and one were a boy I would absolutely use it. It is your child. Do not worry what others thinks. Names grow on people eventually anyway but for me it is a yes straight away!

rainbowlovesfroot · 11/05/2019 16:16

I live love love love love it

really classic and deposits some people not LIKING It, it’s a really inoffensive name

Seeleyboo · 11/05/2019 16:17

Very pretentious.

BentBaastard · 11/05/2019 16:17

Pompous and wet

Hiphopopotamous · 11/05/2019 16:19

I loved it but DH vetoed it

ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 11/05/2019 16:23
