full names for Leni

Really love the name Leni for a girl - usually it's short for Helen/a which I don't love. Any thoughts on a full name that might suggest it? I guess there's Eleanor...

(this is entirely academic as I had a daughter a few months ago and named her something else, but I love her so much I'm already plotting the next.)

Just go Leni?
We have a Leni in our lives and she is such an amazing special person.
Love it.

I like Lunde's suggestions - Magdalena and Madeleine

Bumblebeesmum · 08/05/2019 23:30

Maybe Adeline ?

Bumblebeesmum · 08/05/2019 23:34

Emmeline is beautiful & could work?

locketsprocket · 08/05/2019 23:37

Helleni, I know a girl called this and she shortens to Leni, she is such a lovely, kind, confident, beautiful girl... I love the name

Elisheva · 08/05/2019 23:38

Penelope?

Reasonstobeearful · 08/05/2019 23:45

Is this for a sister to Adolf? Confused

Calloway · 08/05/2019 23:49

Leni Riefenstahl was my first thought too although there are probably lots of Lenis about and considerably fewer Adolfs!

Calloway · 08/05/2019 23:50

OP, did you want to pronounce it lenny or laynee?

MumUnderTheMoon · 08/05/2019 23:53

Lenore, Lennox, Lennon or just use Lennie. Leni looks a bit "nick namey" but I think Lennie looks like a full name. You could pair it with quite a feminine middle name.
Lennie Grace
Lennie Jane
Lennie Marie
Lennie Joy
Lennie Rose

I know two Lenis (one elderly and one in her 20s), one is named Eleni (if Greek but it would be fine to use if you're not I should think), the other Valentina.

BertieBotts · 08/05/2019 23:55

Annalina is lovely.

I agree anything ending in -line would work too. A few of the baby name sites you can search by starts with, ends with, contains etc.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 09/05/2019 00:00

Melanie

AlliKaneErikson · 09/05/2019 00:15

Eleni

Is this for a sister to Adolf?

oh boy! You can't seriously say Leni is in the same bracket as Adolf. There are still hundreds of thousands of Helenes, Lenes and Lenis in Europe. By that logic nobody would be calling their kids Eva, Otto, Richard, Albert, Heinrich or Hans.

Charlene on Neighbours (going back 30 years!)was always called Leni for short. That’s the only time I’ve ever heard it as a shortening.

tdam · 09/05/2019 03:10

I love Leni, I've considered it for my daughter as a nickname either for Eleanor or Lennon. I love both although I'd probably go with Lennon, it has spunk in my opinion. I'm not usually into unisex names but in this case I think it works.

Cbeebiesrehab · 09/05/2019 07:37

Eleni or maybe Elena

daisypond · 09/05/2019 07:55

Marlene?

CloserIAm2Fine · 09/05/2019 08:13

I love Elena or Eleni
