Rowan is lovely and interesting.

Sam and Charlie are very overused imo and may start to sound dated soon.

The name Samuel will not be dated soon. It was the number 32 in popularity in 1900 and is similar now, it is fairly consistently in the top 50.

Unusual names following trends like nature names or lots of flowery vowels are the ones that will date first - not classics as much. Plus I don’t know why it matters if it’s dated to their generation.

I like Rowan and Sam equally I don’t like the other

I like all 3. Rowan is quite different in vibe to the other two.
Can't really pick between them, but I'd probably choose Charlie.
