Hi all, I'm expecting a girl and have wanted the name Rose since forever, but have noticed that the name suddenly seems really popular where I live. Is that the case everywhere? Will she be one of several girls called Rose everywhere she goes?

I’m Rosemary but am known as Rose.

I’ve mainly heard it as a hyphenated middle name for little ones.

I've only ever heard it once in my area. I remember thinking though how pretty it was to hear the name. I mostly hear Ava, Poppy and Isla around here, so I wouldn't worry too much about your daughter being one of several girls named Rose Smile

One of my DDs is Rose. Suits her so well. She's in her 20s now. She's absolutely beautiful and mess with her at your peril - she has thorns too 🙂

I think it’s a beautiful name, far nicer than other ‘unique’ style names.

@purplechandelier I know or have heard of three new babies called Rose in the past 6 months, too. I do still love the name though.

It may well have a resurgence now as the middle name has become 'normal'.

Rose is no 60 in the UK top 100, and Rosie is at 35. So, fairly popular, but I'd take heart from the fact that 59 other girls' names are more popular! It really depends on whether that bothers you or not. Lovely name.

Better to give your daughter your favourite name than to pick another name just because it's less popular.

Call her Rose.

I love Rose, I love how simple and sweet it is. I adore Rosalie too, less popular than Rose, beautiful and can give you nn Rose anyway! Good luck :)
