Luna or Nancy?

37 weeks pregnant with baby no3... we don’t know if it’s a boy or girl. All sorted with boys name but can’t decide between Luna or Nancy for a girl... any thoughts?!

Luna is ridiculous. It sounds like loon/loony and is so overrated. Nancy is a very sweet name.

Because the moon has been connected with mental health issues Luna is the root for so many words which will be really difficult for your D.C. (congrats) to live with surely ?
Lunacy loony lunatic etc etc
Although pretty I wouldn’t use it.

Nancy of the two, although Luna is ok its a cross between a goth and an accross the park screech where I live and does have unfortunate nickname potential ....
They are quite different styles -Nancy a bit more old lady chic (nothing wrong with that)
prefer the Nola mentioned below or Nova if you want a space type..

i wouldnt name a child luna

Love Nancy btw. Has been a family name in older generations and have always loved it. Bit sassy, strong, very nearly pretty !

Not a fan of either but always really disliked Nancy so would go for Luna out of these.

My friend has just called her new baby Luna, but then she is Spanish, so it works well with hers/husband's/other daughter's names.

I, too don’t see the fascination with Luna. It even sounds rather awkward. More trad names for the moon are available eg Selena.
I don’t feel Nancy is ready for recycling. They were twoa penny back in the late 50’s to 70’s. Previously a nn for Agnes, apparently. Old form of Agnes was Annis and the Scots etc often use Nan as a nn for Ann — hence Nancy.
