All ugly.

Whizzler · 29/04/2019 03:12

All you're missing is Bertha and you'll have the full set.

Alicewond · 29/04/2019 03:13

They all sound like dark hogwarts teachers

FlyingMonkeys · 29/04/2019 03:20

Petronel comes up as a 17th century firearm on Google 😕

Whizzler · 29/04/2019 03:21

Maybe she means Petronella. That was the name of the irritating woman from The Miniaturist.

ViserionTheDragon · 29/04/2019 03:43

Sorry OP, all of them are awful.

Rosesaredead · 29/04/2019 04:18

Really horrible, sorry

ShanghaiDiva · 29/04/2019 04:28

Love Nigella, but not the others

Seahorseshoe · 29/04/2019 05:24

Not keen, op. Sorry.

Icklepup · 29/04/2019 08:55

Dislike them all

Divgirl2 · 29/04/2019 09:18

Petronel sounds like something you'd find in a cheap face wash.
All awful.

koality · 29/04/2019 09:20

I don't mind Nigella. Don't get Petronel at all.

Fudgenugget · 29/04/2019 09:21

Oh dear.

Out of interest, why these choices?

(Borrow or buy a baby name book)

PlatypusLeague · 29/04/2019 09:22

Wilhelmina is quite cool. Willa or Mina as nickname.

Madamedeluxe · 29/04/2019 09:23

Not good.

evilharpy · 29/04/2019 09:23

I used to know a Petronella who went by Pauline.

Marvellow · 29/04/2019 09:26

I really like Petra

slappinthebass · 29/04/2019 09:37

Nigella-writes cookery books
Wilhelmina- incredible name. Some really cool nicknames from this one.
Petronel-I've never heard of this name. Makes me think of petrol/a good name for a petrol station. I do like the suggestions of it being shortened to Petra though.

Sophronia · 29/04/2019 11:07

I like Wilhelmina, but not keen on the others.

Bumblebeesmum · 29/04/2019 12:45

Good god what a list - Petrol for short ?! Confused

Generally I like boring names for Mumsnet standards like Oliver, James, Hannah etc but even I like Wilhelmina - I think Willa & Winnie are really cute nicknames

Prettylittlelady · 07/05/2019 21:14

All truly awful - sorry.

IvanaPee · 07/05/2019 21:15

I assume you mean Petronella?

Anyway, they’re all hideous! Sorry.

Whoops75 · 07/05/2019 21:19

If you like Winnie then Winifred is nicer

Very unusual names!

lljkk · 07/05/2019 21:34

Gertrude?

VforVienetta · 07/05/2019 21:56

Ironic user name OP? Grin

I quite like Wilhelmina, Winnie, Mina, but on the flip side also Willy...

I’d add Prunella to your list, along the same lines.
If the names sing to you, and work with your surname , go for it. Unusual names are really not a problem for most kids these days, unlike when i was at school. My DC’s classes are full of unusual names, some old fashioned, some made up, some foreign. None cause problems for the children.
