Do you like the name? OH is desperate to use it and I'm unsure. I overthink and worry about everything little thing - so I am a panickier when it comes to names. Siblings Samuel and Alastair. Thank you

I like Marina and Marianne. Would your OH consider something similar? Is it the Mar or the -ina that is more important?

Marnie is gorgeous, much nice than Marina.

Aprilladvised · 28/04/2019 21:00

I live it and know several. They are aged 60, 49, 28 and 13. Sone have a marine connection but others do not as far as I know.

It is a feminine name and easy to spell and pronounce.

Aprilladvised · 28/04/2019 21:01

LOVE it that should say.

I like it - a stylish international type of name for me. Sounds great next to brothers' names too. There are currently 2 Marinas in the royal family, named for Princess Marina who was the Duchess of Kent.

NameChangeSameRage · 29/04/2019 06:53

I like it, but admittedly there is an association with boats!

CornforthWhite · 29/04/2019 07:24

Thank you everyone. Your comments are exactly how I feel about the name - split down the middle! I sort of like it but have reservations.
I've read all your comments to OH and he tells me he's relaxed about it. He likes it and it's his preference, but it's my decision so let's see how I feel over the next few weeks!
I have a fancy for Elizabeth... but someone might beat me to it!

I love it. Our family is Italian on my mother's side and we have a very beautiful and elegant Marina, mum's cousin.

CarolDanvers · 29/04/2019 07:35

One of the most annoying people I know is called Marina so that's a no from me. It's very dated though besides that.
